I'm new to MK and having alot of trouble getting myself started, I have a few friends that have said they would order or host, etc but now that I'm into it I cant get anyone to commit, and there are several consultants in my area so I'm wondering if anyone has any GREAT ideas how to get my name out there and get some customers?? I'd really appreciate any input anyone might have!!

Welcome to the world of MK! And to the Pink Lighthouse You can try some of the documents on the main site for some inspiration. But basically, you'll find that 1. It's a difficult economy for many, so they aren't interested in getting together for a sales pitch to buy over-priced products 2. Even in good economies, women aren't so hot on getting together to be sold this stuff

Ah, welcome to the realities of multi-level marketing. You are told it's so eeeaaaassssyyyyy!!!! Products fly off the shelves - be sure to stock up as some are 'Limited,' gag (you better like those babies, as you'll be the one still trying to use them up 9 years from now!) News flash: the only people excited about your limited edition items is your sales director. Her job is to hype their perceived value to you so you will panic and order $1000 worth. The workload is huge in any MLM. You are told that EVERYTHING is a write off. What they don't tell you is the shocking amount of time you will spend catagorizing all that write-off crap, the files you will have to keep, etc. You'd better be anal about filing and record-keeping. Have you been holding out at least 25-30% of all you make for your personal income taxes? No? Oops. Better get started on that one. Oh my, guess that sort of takes the wind out of the old '50% profit sails,' doesn't it? Why, we haven't even started about the amount of time you will not be home. You won't be home, ever. Get used to it. When you find yourself trying to recruit the skanky Circle K clerk (it's a guy and he's got long nose hairs, but you don't care, you're desparate. Hey, buddy, if you won't sign n this consultant agreement, would you at least consider some of this Limited Edition stuff I got in my van? Gotta special deal for ya!) You will (if you are at all serious about your business) attend all and I mean ALL weekly meetings (a complete waste of time and your feet will be killing you when it's over); yes, you will set up a table at all bridal/fair/charity events. These only happen about once a month. You WILL go to Career Conference and you will sell your children to go to Seminar in Dallas. Oh, yes you will. Hey, you can always have more kiddies. Dump your hubby. He's just a negative nellie. Who needs those when you've got the sista-hood? ? Outta time here. Good luck. Yours truly, Trig

MKpinkFreak, I have to agree with Triggers colourful portrayal of MK, you won't make the money they promise, getting customers is friggin hard and a complete waste of time esp when people can buy whatever they want off E-bay at half of what their friendly neighbourhood MK consultant would sell for. The MK market is saturated...my opinion get out while you can and if you haven't bought inventory yet...don't. Now if you plan to give it a go, be sure to do it with your eyes wide open...know the pitfalls don't take what your director says as gospel, do your research. Good Luck!

MKpinkFreak, Glad you found us! I would like to reinerate all prior warnings and posts and ask that you PLEASE read everything possible ! Getting customers and keeping parties posted is near to impossible! Lots of consultants in my area were having the parties in their homes so the hosts could just bring their friends over (not have to clean or provide refreshments) and the IBC did not have to load everything up in the vehicle. I had a problem with inviting any Tom, Dick and Harry, or Sue, Sally and Sheila, as the case may be, into my home. There is no "trick" other than it is WAY MORE WORK than they (other IBC's, SD and recruiter) would ever tell you before you join. Please make careful choices regarding inventory - remember this is YOUR money you are tying up on the offchance you may sell this stuff. Best of luck. read, read, read the posts here for you and your family's sake!

There has to be a way to earn money from home, some way somehow. I did for 12 years but not by doing any MLM, I worked a medical billing and collections business and I was fortunate to have a great client that stayed with me for those 12 years till this economy hit and he sold his practice. Prior to him I had about 12 clients over the years that didn't pay as well as he did. But doing medical billing is extremely stressful and a 24-7 J.O.B. even tho you are working from home. Have to admit now I am out there looking for another way to replace that income and am trying MiaBella candles at the moment and thinking going with GC candles instead they pay more. A girl from a medical office asked me to join MK thats why I am here to get all the real truth, don't need to lose/waste anymore $$$.
Funny I can remember when MK first started and I was given the free facial and my face broke out swelled up and hurt for a few weeks. (sorry guys, true story)
Anyway so what ways can we earn an income from home?

A friend of mine does Gold Canyon...I have to say I love their candles and the pod warmers are even better...I do not ask how she does with it but I imagine ok... as she has been doing this for a couple years... I sometimes think the only way to really make $$$$ from home has to be by illegal means

I have a friend (lives in another state) who stays at home and walks dogs for extra $$. Of course, she is in bigger city. I would think it would depend on your area.

Tam, walking dogs is a great idea. I live in a retirement town and it can be very difficult for some of these people to walk their dogs. I'd run an ad. You might be very surprised. good luck

Not the right place, but exercise for thighs & butt - try the stairs!!! Great aerobic too! I tried the stair machine at the gym - amazing.
Also, 2 new exercises I'm doing for core & legs - the 'plank' for 90 seconds (you'll have to work up to it - I do the Downward Facing Dog in between to get a bit of relief) and the chair position against the wall (I haven't been able to do 90 seconds yet). I'm doing this once in am - once in pm. Definitely feeling the abs - wherever they are!
