I can't remember the last time I was invited to a home party before.  In the last month it's been - Silpada - two pairs of cheaper earring (I like Lia Sophia better), Pampered Chef (I couldn't believe what everyone was buying!!) - bought the stoneware baking tray and a tomato knife (daughter has both of these & I liked them).  Tonight is Tastefully Simple - I do like their mixes, just wish they were healthier!

Why is it that everyone buys things at these parties - won't leave without something, but at MK parties they would?

Good question!

I was invited to a purse party put on by greergirl or something like that...the concept sounds cool, you pick the style of purse you want then the inside and outside materials and they make it for you....

I might go just to check out the quality that and I like the bunch of gals that are going!  :teehee:

I think that people buy stuff at food parties because everyone loves food!  :corn:  They make good gifts too. MK...not so much....... :teehee:

Oh, what a great question!  I did a jewelry show and one lady bought over $400 worth.  But my MK classes sucked.  I'm the same person.  Worked hard and tried to be very considerte, but still low sales.  Jewelry was the easiest thing I ever sold.  I did have fun selling Princess House crystal.  Miss those flaming desserts.

I love MLM parties.  I love their products and, quite frankly, if I got invited to almost any cosmetic party, I'd go.  I want to try other things, and the ladies are fun.

I did a party once for a girl that had three other parties going at the same time.  I did get some people in my room, and a few customers, but the jewelry girl had EVERYONE in her room buying tons of stuff.  It was so funny - the grandmother said to me, "You must be in the wrong business, she's selling so much and didn't even do 1/2 the work that you did."

Too bad I like skincare better than jewelry, or food, or kitchenware, or purses!!!    :gah:

PS - Do they even have Tupperware parties anymore?

Trixie, I'd give my eye teeth to go to a purse and/or a Tupperware party.  Can't find anyone who sells either around here.  If you find a consul., they go for the throat for you to have a party.  Argh........ :gah:

There is a tupperware consultant in my area.  She does most of her stuff from website.  Has some open houses, IDK if they still do parties or not?

I saw a Tupperware catalog floating around where I used to work. I don't think she did parties just passed the book around at work for people to order. But the stuff seems so expensive compared to the Rubbermaid and Glad stuff. I know it probably lasts longer I'm not sure how long I want to keep plastic anyway. Not to mention when I bring stuff to people's houses, it's nice to have a cheap Rubbermaid thing so I can just "forget" to take it with me if I want to.   :teehee: :laugh3:

No "burping" required for the Rubbermaid or the cheapie Gladware either!
