Music is God's gift to our souls.... Play on!

No, I went with a friend several years ago to one of the river boats, and I saw lines upon lines of little old people in shabby clothes just waiting to get in. I also saw several homeless people there. They kept saying, "Maybe today will be the day I win it big!" Then, several years after that, I saw my next door neighbor throw away nearly $80,000 in a few weeks, her marriage crumbled, the kids were essentially left to grow up on their own, and their cars & house were repossessed. I've seen it take over too many lives, and when I went to the boat, it was okay, but didn't really trip my trigger. And, with our financial state (thanks MK mad2 ), I can't afford to do much more than pay bills and raise kiddos.

Kids and renovations are my life!

« Reply #91 on: July 24, 2007, 06:47:33 PM »

I love to cook, scrapbook, garden, read, play with my kids and at the end of August I'll be canning all the food from my garden. My goal over the next couple of years is to can enough to last the winter and reduce my grocery bill. Not sure if it will work but I'll give it a shot...

Have you ever used power tools? Were you successful or was it a disaster? Give up all the details even if you may be a bit embarrassed!

I used to be a firefighter/paramedic/RN with the local FD. I used power tools - and HUGE ones at that! Yes, I was very good at it. The only embarrassing thing is that I'm better with them than my hubby is, but I have to pretend I'm not so he can do all sorts of home-attempted-improvement things around here! (I say attempted because he usually attempts, and I improve!) :swing: It helps to keep that man vs. his environment thing in balance. He gets to be the man, I get to balance his environment!

I always was a morning person.....now ray of sunshine....that's open to opinion.  I remember when my children were small I would get up at 5AM just to have an hour or so to myself and I didn't work outside the home then!

Now that I am in my mid 50s, I still am a morning person.  I'm usually sound asleep by 11PM and wide awake at 6AM.

Have you ever participated in an extreme sport (skydiving, bungee jumping, etc) and if so would you do it again?

No I have not done any extreme sports...I'm too afraid of pain and I like my parts the way they are!

What was your reason for leaving MK?

rofl rofl Hah - parts where they belong - you know my sick trauma nurse humor - I prefer seeing parts where they DON'T belong!!  rofl rofl

My reason for leaving MK - I'll give you the short novella....
My director pushed and pushed, and finally I realized that she was lying through her teeth to the point that she forgot what the truth was. She was calling my friends behind my back (got ahold of my online customer list!!) and I lost several friends. I left my church unrelated to MK, but when that happened, I lost over 60% of my customers. She told me to "get over it, and get to work like you've never been before." I thought that was pretty uncaring, and it rubbed me wrong, and when I went to the fall retreat for our area, I saw some things that absolutely turned my stomach green. From downright blasphemy to outright begging people to put in inventory, followed by listening to several directors say horrible things about some of my friend consultants, I realized what a clique-ish, phony, scam it was. I stepped back, saw my debt and what it had done to my family and me, and realized that the lack of integrity wasn't something I could abide any more. After I backed off, she really showed her true colors, calling me names, sending me NASTEEEEEEEEE nasty emails, and calling me constantly. I had to block her email address, and I screen my caller ID. Her cousin is the NSD, and she was involved in the whole Hilari Courtney scandal - the NSD gave her most of the ideas she got caught doing! :drama: I can't be a part of that scum.

So, on to happier things - do you live in your dream house yet?

Mary Kay sucks.  Now onto more pleasant things...  smiley

I am not living in the dream house yet!  Dream house would be on the beach -- even though I love the desert, I need some blue water.

Nope I don't tan, I am neon white and burn and peel, even with sunscreen.  I try to stay out of the sun and cover up.

Sitting under the canopy in the back yard watching the kids swim, occasionally jumping in to dunk one of them, then sitting back, listening to music, watching them have so much fun! That and VBS at church!

Since I'm testing for my black belt tomorrow, I'm stressed out! :nuke: duel: What is your favorite thing to do to de-stress? (and can you send me a good vibe or two while you're thinking of your de-stressing techniques? :pplease:

When I'm Stressed out  I fill the tub with bubble bath, light a candle, put on my favorite music and relax with a glass of wine.  That makes it all okay!

Do you have a tatoo and if so, what is it?   If not, what would it be, if you did?

Yep, got a few...  rofl  I have three -- one on my ankle (at 24), one on my lower back (at 28) and one on my hip (at 18).  A yin yang sign within the earth, a peace sign and a photo of Jerry Garcia.  Ahhhh, youth...

If you have dogs or cats, do they sleep with you?  And if so, did you have to get a bigger bed??

I have a dog and she doesn't sleep on our bed, she sleeps on the floor beside the bed.
