I received Jesus and gave my life to Him last year and TODAY  I had my membership interview at the church which has been providing so much guidance to me. I have only missed on Sunday this year ( snowstorm). But you know.. you do not have to go to church to go to heaven.

My father was Catholic and my mother Methodist.  I attend a Presbyterian church but have visited almost every other type of Church.
I think as long as people try to live a good life and try to be the best person they can be to themselves and others it really doesn't matter what church if any you attend.

I grew up southern baptist and my husband and I are on staff helping start a new church in our area.  It is busy, tiring, draining, and wonderful all in one.  We are truly on the mission field.  We feel God calling us to Canada to plant churches one day.  This is the first church plant that we have been a part of.  It is truly a blessing.  The pastor and his wife are in there late 20's and everything is very contemporary.  My husband and I are in our early 30's.  We have a variety of ages from 50's to teenagers.  Pray for us as we continue to grow in this community.  If anyone lives in the memphis area just let me know.

I grew up in USA Presbyterian, married and divorced a man who was Catholic, then invented his own religion - self worship :puhleeze: then divorced him for every biblical reason there is. I then married a man whose mom was Catholic, dad was Southern Baptist, and he and his brother were raised in United Church of Christ, which I understand is much different than the Church of Christ. We went there for awhile, then to PCA Presbyterian for 12 years, and now are at a non-denominational bible-teaching, bible-believing WONDERFUL church. My pastor has a radio show and podcasts, too. I have never felt as comfortable in a church as we are here. I have always known Christ, but my relationship with him was very strained for a number of years as I suffered abuse, both as a child and as an adult. I thought I knew where my life was going when MK came along, and it was actually the straw that broke the camel's back (my so-called MK business being the camel) when I heard the absolute heresy being "preached" by my NSD.

I have re-committed my life to Christ, and will be baptized along with my 13 year old daughter in a couple of months.  :bliss:

Cradle Catholic! Whole family- all the sacraments. Husband converted before we got married. There's only 1 catholic church within an hour of my new house though and it's very money orriented and cold- not at all like the church I was raised in. Trying now to find a christian church my family can be involved in. Pretty sad, but we're currently church hopping!

Well, I was born and raised Roman Catholic, but in 2004 I became Episcopalian.  My mother wasn't too happy about that, but she did come to the ceremony where I was received into the Episcopal church.

I went to another Episcopal church before I settled on the one I am with now.  I just felt at home in my new church.  It is wonderful that they recognize the gifts that each of us has.

I am glad to see that there isn't any church bashing here.  I have been to some christian forums and seeing the church bashing has made me weep.

Same here!! I grew up Russian Orthodox, but now I'm Methodist.

I go to an Evangelical Free Church; I'm a non-denominational Christian.  Just baptized Aug 26th, and grew up in a non-Christian household.
