new here, not in the pink fog, but certainly was the first time I was an IBC....yes, I did it again, with the intention of being a personal use consultant, I was wondering if there are any IBC's or Directors who actually "sell" all the product they buy. I think it became clear to me after reading posts here and other similar sites that many directors are "warehousing product" especially when I went to my director's house to swap product, she had unopened cases of product almost stacked to the ceiling and I said, "wow, you haven't had a chance to unpack that yet" she responded, "well you gotta do, what you gotta do" OK well that was obviously product she didn't need.....
I will continue to use the skin care, have been for almost 20 years, I also have enough family and friends who use it to support my quarterly ordering requirement to remain active. I just have no desire to "drink or distribute the pink koolaid" I have known my director for over 10 years, she is a smart, sharp lady, professional, and I feel like I need to save her....but I know she will have to realize it for herself. anyway, thanks for having a place for us to talk and find support.

madchampion. Welcome. I sincerely doubt that there are many, if any, Directors that sell all the product they order. Most of them order at Star Consultant level every quarter. Some do it to keep Directorship. I know my Director had TONS of inventory. She sold to Consultants at a 40% discount, which MK Inc. would not be happy to know. But no matter what I needed or when I needed it, she ALWAYS had it. It was amazing.

Yep, my director was the same way. Had everything. Boxes upon boxes in the garage. Yet they say you can't trust the stuff on ebay because of storage?? Hmmmmmm. Glad you are here and have found what works for you!

My director's entire downstairs of her house, which was at least 1,000 square feet, was completely dedicated to MK. It was her "office", which had an area for her desk/computer, and shelf after shelf after shelf loaded with products. Then there was a small round table with chairs for hosting her own SCC's. Yet MK teaches us to drive all over creation and bend over backwards for a customer's every whim. Not my director. She stayed put. She'd even call her customers and tell them "Your order is ready for pick-up". I didn't figure this out until I had been watching her and how she ran her "business" for a few years. She would gladly trade with any of her consultants. She even called me a few times to ask for some items I had in trade (discontinued Journey lotions/gels, Crystal Berries set, etc.). She probably knew I couldn't sell that much limited edition stuff but let me order it anyhow!.

I'm wondering if I should try to "clue in" my director--she orders at star consultant level every month. she told me she does a $600 order every month....I know it's probably not a good idea to try to help her "see the light", but it just kills me that she's a former military officer and Registered Nurse...I told her how much money I was making at my "day job" and she was flabergasted. From that day on she stopped pushing me to recriut, I told her flat out that I had no plans to recruit, no plans to hold skin care classes and was very happy with being a personal use consultant, sharing my discount with family and friends.

My director has tons of stuff too. She usually had a $1600 order every quarter if not more. She had an office with all her inventory - discontinued section, skincare, color. Then in her dining room she had a Mary Kay table with books and things on it. Then in that same room she had a cabinet filled with samples and color 101 samples. I do not know what she needed it all for. And she sometimes loaned it away and got mad when someone didn't replace it. My recruiter had to be place a $1600 order to pay back our director. I just think it is all madness and I get mad that I got caught in it.

Oh man, I'm so bummed (not!). My SD always valued things at MY wholesale level (50%, not the 36% or whatever she was getting!) when she traded with me, which was at least a few times per month.
