Patricia...since you only order once a year, do you still get the 50% discount with the $200 order?

I'm not Patricia, but I will answer...  smiley

Yes she does.  But if you want anything else after 3 months of placing that order, you have to order another $200 worth to get the discount.  What Patricia does order once a year and stock up -- which I am sure works for many people.  Others may want a special or limited edition something in the middle of the year and then they need to place another $200 order to receive the discount.

I am not sure what Patricia means about FRESH products coming from the company if she only orders once per year -- we have consultants here selling stuff that they purchased last month -- pretty fresh if you ask me...

Again, if you want to sign up for the discount, go for it!!  We just have so many members who wished they never had done that...

Thanks, TUP! Apparently I'm not the only person who was put off by the "FRESH" comment (WTH?!) :yack: No one (at least no one I've traded with thus far) is in the practice of sending old drek to people they trade with here at PL (and I've traded plenty here at PL).

The company created date codes which are printed on every product, so you know exactly when the the product in question was manufactured. Additionally, if someone were trading old crap, I doubt they would be trading with anyone here for long- we don't tolerate bad traders!!

You should feel confident in knowing that you can trade with consultants/ex-consultants here and that you are getting the exact same product as if you'd purchased it from MK the company (because in actuality, you ARE buying it from them (MK); it was just delivered to someone else's house instead of yours!!)

Tha ALL CAPS "FRESH" snub just sort of chaps my hide! :nuke:

I can proudly say I will be an ex-con!!!

That was too funny!!! I agree with the "fresh" thing - I tossed my crap, and only trade the good stuff! I figure that I wouldn't want anyone sending me smelly ancient face goo, so I took all of mine and fed my dumpster. I won't send gross stuff to anyone!!

As for gross things being sent from the company - remember when the rosemary mint bliss pedicure sets first came out? I got one with a razor blade in it - FROM THE COMPANY!!!!! They of course, didn't believe me, so I sent the darn thing back to them, razor and all. I know, I mean, I KNOW that nobody here would send me something like that. Friends don't treat friends like crap, sending them crap, and still have friends afterward. UGH! :gah:

I agree. I always try to check the dates before I send them out. I've got stuff from my starter kit and they are going in the trash.  I've never had any problem getting old stuff when I traded. I trust the women on here more than I do mk.  I can't believe you got a razor blade. I'm going to go and check my stock right now.

Welcome...just a reminder, it's not just a $200 order. It's also $8.35 in shipping AND the retail tax on $200 and all of that comes to roughly $275. I've had nothing but great trades and purchases here and I NEVER want to give MKCorp my money again! I'd rather post here and help my fellow posters/members get rid of their inventory.

I just wanted to add that I often warn people to watch out for "fresh" stuff, but that is concerning EBAY, not Pink Lighthouse!!!!! The only time I traded with anyone was with Sassy, and it was GREAT smiley (Now I get my stuff 1/2 from my friend who is still in MK-and no, she won't come here, she LIKES MK!! LOL!!)

But maybe this is an option for you Maybpink? Can you buy your MK from a consultant at cost? Just a thought smiley

To be honest, it will still waste your money. I agree with the poster above, buy from women on this board on clearance. MK will mess you up even if you are only personal use.

Hi,  I'm an active consultant, (only since Jan 07), and here are my two cents.  I have a full time job and MK is just a fun hobby for me, really.  I wanted my stuff at half price and wanted to get in on all the cool goodies they keep coming out with!  I made an initial investment from my personal savings into a business checking account, about $750 to get things going, which I could afford.  I got the starter kit, got the website, some business cards and did my first $200 order.  My director never pushed me; she's really great.  I never gave in to peer or any other pressure, and I have no credit card debt.  I refuse to "warm chatter" and have yet to book a skin care class.  I do not hard-sell my product.  My customer list is growing, just from wearing my MK pin, passing out look books, and promoting my website.  I make enough income to keep my business "in the black" and stay active, and that's all I want.  If that's what you're looking for, too, then you can do it.  Do NOT listen to anyone who tries to get you to buy more than you need.  Order as you need to for your customers; believe me, they are willing to wait for an order to come in.  If your director/recruiter tries to talk you into buying more, or recruiting, or seminars and you don't want to, tell her to BACK OFF!  What can she do, fire you?  Not even close.  Your relationship is with Mary Kay, Inc., not her.  As long as you are in good standing with MK, you're fine.  Be in MK for fun, and don't let anyone tell you how to run your own business.  I only speak from limited experience, but I hope it helps.  Take care and good luck

I remember you said "you pack a mean box" and that cracked me up b/c I was just trying to prevent it from making noise so they didn't open it and see that I packed something "liquid" since you aren't 'posed to mail anything "fragile, liquid, perishable, or hazerdous".....so I lied....

I'm glad you appreciated the compliment! :teehee: Trading here has been a very positive experience for me so far. Ironically, the only times I've had issues with trasdes has been on another site!
