:hello: Hiya from the Princess of Dorkness. I just quit Avon. True, it's not Mary Kay, but these "direct selling companies" have way more in common than they'd admit.  :matoes: So I do get quite a bit out of reading these boards (and the other big Anti-MK site too wink) even if it's not specifically geared toward my "opportunity".

When I'm not sticking it to the man, I enjoy playing video games, gardening, reading, writing, and playing Barbies with my three year old daughter. I have a child, a live-in boyfriend, a guinea pig, and two cats. My J-O-B is as a lifeguard for two local pools, and I am starting an eBay cosmetics liquidator business. I am also a Navy Reservist and drill on the weekend warrior schedule of a weekend a month and two weeks a year.

I look forward to conversing with everyone here and hope each of you has a blessed day.  :wishes:

Princess of Dorkness?!     :1lmao:

Welcome!

You're right...all these direct sales companies have a lot in common. Basically they all use the same tactics. It's just the product that is different.

If you like video games, check out our arcade.

Glad you're here! We're so much more than just MK.

Princess of Dorkness,

Welcome!  As you can see in my signature, I am a former Avon lady too!  I sold it from 1988 to 1993.  Lost a ton of money with it.

:ty: for your service to our country.

I'm glad you liked my signature!  We should trade stories on the Avon board here!  I was one who had to trod the sod (I had two territories and rang doorbells back in the day).  I met a lot of nice people while in Avon, but it is next to impossible to make any money at it.  I made President's Club three out of the four years I was in, and in fact was on my way to Honor Society (For those of you who don't know,  to make President's club, you had to sell at least $8,500.00 during a year back then, and to make Honor Society, the level went up to $16,000.00).

so DeeBunker...what's the story behind your name?

Well, since I've been a survivor of 4 MLMs, I'v e decided that I want to be a de-bunker of the MLM myth that you can actually make money at those schemes.

I like the sound of the name, but after I created my i.d. many moons ago, I googled the name and found out that there are quite a few women with the name of Dee Bunker out there.

So if they are looking for a job and a prospective employer googles their name, my posts here at PinkLighthouse might show up in the research.
