it sucks that theres always a consultant who has to be so fake and do what she's taught by others instead of listening to herself. with me i always try and make my classes different,it especially would not b in a bathroom. i hate it when i hear ppl say "would u like a free facial",then it ends up being a boring lesson. i try to do what i say and actually make a spa like atmosphere, something that i know i would like, how it should be,a free facial. i dont try and sell i'm there to make the beauty from inside come out and i do it for the women who never has time to feel good bout themselves b/c they're too busy with kids, etc like me. im not full of crap like the others and i dont tell ppl they look beautifull unless they really are. its just embarrasing to butter ppl up for both sides.

Haha!!! I agree with you about the way they are! it feels like everyone is brainwash on those meetings!  I went to several of those so call "trainning meetings" and most of the time was to decorate those who have sell a lot...it was funny!!!...we had little "handclappers" and the sales director had a "wand" for those who had earn a lot of money, so they can go around the room and give us thier "magic"

Like I said before, I felt like I was on a cult!

Hope you take lots of notes and write about it. I am sure we all are going to get a kick out of it!  :1lmao:

I know the original post is an older one, but I just HAVE to comment here.  This is the EXACT reason I do NOT take people to meetings!  Yeah, I go to meetings, more or less to have time for me outside of the house.  But I refuse, simply refuse to subject anyone I care about and would want to work with on a daily basis to that garbage.  Guess that's the reason I have only 1 team member and she's not even in my state!  Recruited her on the internet.  Never have even met her.

My recruit and I hated all of that rah rah crap! We just wanted to sell MK! Well guess what, you need all of that rah rah crap to keep you going after you hear no after no after no after no!!!!!!! The rah rah crap is to keep YOU buying more and more Mary Kay.

I always thought that Mary Kay was a good product, but if it is sooooooooooo great why do they keep changing it?

I remember sitting in a meeting and seeing these poor pathetic women who had no idea what they just got themselves into.

One of these days I'll write out my whole MK experience, from my free facial to my last meeting!!!!!! LOL, why did I fall for that crap? I was desperate and I believed that the person who signed me up truly cared about me! Duh, what a dork!

I live in a rural area, my recruiter, a DIQ, held the meetings at her house & only had meetings every 2 weeks (+/-).  The Exe SR Sales Director came (2 hrs each way) to do meetings, but all the little "contests" they ran, you'd have to have 4 or 5 people at a meeting per month !  The Exe SR Sales Director had weekly meetings at all other units.  Like alpayton, unless there was an event, I never took a guest.

Of course, no-one could figure out why I told them it was unfair to those of us who met only 2 times per month to have to have the same number of guests as those consultants who met 4 times.  I'm no math wiz, by far, but Hello!  Probably too much thinking on my part for the foggers! Bash

LOL Tam. Well, see the sales directors have huge expenses and need to recruit more and more people, so they don't care what's fair! What are the stats again? 1 out of 20 guests may sign up? So, that's why they need you to bring sooooooooooo many people! UGH!!!!!

Tam look at it this way at least you saved on unit dues, since you attended 2 mtgs per month vs. 4 per month and you only had to listen to 1/2 the crap.  From my experience the amount of money and time you invest in winning the crappy prize is more than the prize is worth!

And you are right about thinking too much.....it's when you start thinking that you realize you are already in too deep!  Take my advice and get out before you invest more money.  See what you can return to MK and then take that money to pay off your MK debt or buy something you REALLY want!

Lipstick,

I'm trying to do that now, wish I'd had that advice 6 mos ago.  Last meeting I went to the SD told me I needed to be at RJR - she knew i could do it!  i have 0 recruits & the registration deadline is like 1 mo w/ 3 recruits & 8 parties.  Ive had less than 3 parties in 6 mos.  -- I'll pack my bag - LOL  They must get something for how many in the unit show up.
