Hi my name is Jennifer I was wondering what this forum was all about.  I was hoping that I could find other consultants to talk about the wonderful business with and share ideas about how to get my name out there.  Please let me know if there is anyone out there that actually likes the company and what it does for women.

I read my post and realized I may not be forward enough for what I'm trying to tell everyone here... I stumbled across this forum without really know what it's about.  I will continue to read up on the threads but just thought I'd start out and get my feet wet by introducing myself and making it clear that I am all for the business and will remain all for it.  I'm trying to find ways to network, make friends, and increase my business.  If this isn't the place to do that, my apologies...  Thanks in advance!

Ok, that's what I'm doing, I'm reading "this" post and if you're not interested in telling me what's going on here then I guess this isn't the place for me...  I've been reading around and am getting the feeling this is an anti - Mary Kay forum and I'm just trying to find that out...  Thanks for the Post!

Jennifer, we are here to support you in anyway we can. We will be here for you no matter what, just look around, we do have a lot of "active" consultants here.

As far as getting your name out there. I use to do "fishbowls" they were usually successful, but I ended up running out of places that were willing to do them.

If you read around, you will see that some of the reasons we are here is because we weren't able to find the answers you seek either. Mary Kay is a hard business to make money at, unless you are willing to do it unethically. Sorry, JMHO!  Love
If you are looking to do things unethically, go to your unit meetings.

Anyway, we hope you stick around. We would love to here what you have o say, but you will need to listen to us too! LOL we can be LONG winded when it comes to MKC!

Welcome  :loveshwr:

And I would add that getting snotty with me isn't exactly the best way to start out as far as I am concerned...  I don't know what you got from my post, but I was just trying to welcome you and be neutral.

We have a bunch of info on this forum that discusses what we are about, and I try not to give my opinion with newbies -- I always like to tell them to look around.

So if you needed more, you could have just asked...

Welcome to the board griffsgirl....you will also find that we talk about more than just MK....

This web board is a place where people that have had or are having trouble making money at MLM's can get information to make their own choices.....

You will NEVER be told that you shouldn't do MK....have at er! Like WWIT said there is an area for active consultants here and many of the members her are still active.....you just need to have an open mind...

Griffsgirl -

Welcome!  I'm new to this forum too and still an active consultant, new to MK - 9 months.  I think we've all looked for answers to the questions you are asking.

Please read through the posts - especially if you you are going to stay with MK - you will find some very useful advice.

griffsgirl...

Snotty responses, like yours to TUP, won't get you far here.

You won't take the time to read any posts here to understand what the forum is about, yet you joined anyway?!

Somehow, though, from reading your second post here, where you say you're "I am all for the business and will remain all for it" I have a feeling you really already DO know what this forum is about and you may just be trying to egg on some of our members. I hope not...because in the Internet world, that's known as a troll and your account could be deleted for it.

Welcome...I hope you will take some time to read the posts here. You know that TUP didn't mean THIS post when she said it.

Please! egg me on! I love it!

Mary Kay is a money-sucking waste of time, and you'd be better off working part time at McDonald's than trying to make money at this business.

griffsgirl, I'm relatively new to PLH but not to this community and I must echo the advice already given:  Look about the forum before you leap in.  And that goes for all of them.  There are other forums out here in cyberspace where postings like yours would get you various body parts severed and returned to you on a silver platter, much the worse for wear.  Figuratively speaking, of course.

Whatever you choose to do, please feel free to read and learn more.

Although everyone here does try to be respectful when replying to posts, all it takes is one crass response to elicit some non-sugarcoated honesty.

If you are always going to love MK, I'm sure you'll still get some valuable information here from working consultants who are trying to do it the right way.  It's just been my experience that you won't/can't make much money if you do your business ethically.
