OMG - I love Bare Minerals. A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with a formaldehyde allergy. Formaldehyde exists in many cosmetics. There are chemicals in cosmetics called formaldehyde releasers so the word "formaldehyde" probably isn't on your bottle : some common names idiazynol urea, quaternium-15. This is so common it is even in baby shampoo. 80% of MK cosmetics have some form of formaldehyde.
Because this is very commen in liquids (lotions, shampoo, foundations) it is hard for me to find a good foundation. All of bare minerals powders are formaldehyde free and they do not irritate my skin.
I use the foundation powder, but my absolutely favorite product is the "True" radiance all over face color. I have gotten so many compliments that my face looks fresh and I look happy and alert (but natural) and for those times when you don't want as much color, there's also bare radiance.

I love them. They are fun to put on. It's hard to get used to, because as you're applying, you don't see anything going onto your skin- but you start to see your skin just magically even out. I love the warmth. It doesn't look like a bronzer, and it's not too sparkly. And my favorite is the mineral veil. It really does give an airbrushed finish. I've been trying a few eye shadows, and their liner you put on w/ a wet brush- I thought it would be too much work, but I love the way it goes on. More control than w/ a pencil.
My skin looks so luminous and soft, and they are good for your skin! Whether you use bare minerals or another line, from what I've researched and found, mineral foundations are great!
Anyway- love my bare minerals!!

I really like warmth and mineral veil! The foundation covers well and you don't have to have an exact match...you can mix colors to get a shade right for you.
Its great stuff

Yeah for you! For fun, I was at the mall today and was looking for a cleanser--anyway, the counter I was at was offering facials...so I thought, why not? The facial was great, but after, I had her go ahead and put a little makeup on me (don't want to walk around w/ a completely naked face, sorry) and man, even though she did a great, natural job, liquid foundation does not compare to my minerals!!! ( I did find a great new cleanser though) Anyway, so glad you love them. Have fun--- in addition to the basic kit, I am loving true face color as a little blush w/ my warmth, and I like well rested and cashmere shadows and coffee bean liner--- but it is an amazing little product, eh? Just wonderful how it makes your skin glow!! I tried them out on my aunt, who is 40ish, and she loved them too- she was very skeptical that they would cover her rosacea, but she loved it, and she was glowing. I bet she's a convert now... hee hee!

My daughter who is 13 a little rosacia (sp) and when she wants coverage the Bare Minerals is great. It won't aggrivate her skin or cause breakouts. I recomend it for teens (although it takes time to perfect the application, it's worth it)!

Yeah! i bought it! But I just used it once and haven't used it since. I think I just don't know how to apply it. I don't know it doesn't offer to much covered for me, but I notice you comment that it takes time to get use the application and to know how to apply it....
Any tips you have, I'll appreciated, I still have it there w/out using it.....

1. make sure to use the lid- tap some bare minerals into the lid- not much though-- 2. swirl, swirl and swirl your brush in the minerals in the lid--- of course, then tap of excess-- 3. brush/buff them on- just keep buffing for a bit-- then you can apply some more if you need it. also, in areas that you need very full coverage, use the full coverage concealer brush- it looks like a small version of a foundation brush- get some minerals on it, swirl and them tap them onto areas you need more coverage- that really works well. I use this on my under eye area, around nose, and wherever else I want more coverage. I've found that as I just keep buffing the brush on my face, the coverage just gets better- and I usually get a little more in the brush and buff a little more on my t zone area where my pores are larger--then on my under eye circles, etc, I just use the full cov. concealer brush onthose areas when I'm all done- w/ the warmth, less is more-just a very light sprinkle in the lid is all--very light- and of course, when you're all done w/ foundation and warmth, I apply my mineral veil which just air brushes everything- watch the video, and if you don't have it, look on their website and yo ucan watch them there. just play, keep trying, and if you really don't like it, call the company and try to get a refund. let us know! good luck!!

Also, if you have an Ulta cosmetics store near you, they sell the sets and they will also give demos (not sure how well trained they are, but at least you can try it before you buy it).
Have you noticed now that all the cosmetic companies have something "mineral" now? I needed new foundation and trolled Walgreens for about an hour--L'oreal, Neutrogena, etc, everybody has something mineral with a brush attached to the bottom of a bottle of powder. Wonder how this works in comparison to Bare Minerals.
I'm too lazy to go to the mall this week, but my favorite foundation is from Prescriptives. I like the texture and the coverage and they can match my incredibly pale skin without me looking like I'm going for Goth.

As for the minerals from neutrogena and loreal, they are not pure minerals, like bare minerals are- their mineral foundations have other ingredients- so they aren't really the same thing, they are more of just a loose powder formulation w/ some extra minerals- anyway, I'm a label reader, I wondered the same thing, but they aren't the same.
