Sad, just curious.......do you have sensitive, oily, acne prone skin??? I never realized my skin was so sensitive til I started trying other products......
Yeah, REALLY sensitive! Not too oily, but acne prone, big time. I use Murad now, and I really love it. It stings a little (the acne treatment) but it works great! And I am using gloMinerals foundation right now.

Hi Moments in Pink,
Mineral makeup is truly a unique and very cool product. I hope you like it. A lot of women decide to never go back to regular makeup because minerals are so much easier and better for your skin. Hope your order gets there quick!

Just to add another opinion, I'm pretty mixed about Bare Minerals. Its easy to apply, once you get used to it, it covers fairly well, and-my favorite part-you truly feel as though you are wearing nothing. On the down side, my face gets kind of itchy when I wear it. I think this is mostly from the full coverage brush though. I much prefer the handy kabuki, but I may try applying it with a sponge tomorrow after what I read on here. Secondly, I've experienced it kind of peeling off. Maybe peeling isn't the right word, but some days, if I lightly rub my face, it comes off in balls. Anyone else experience this? I can't figure it out. Maybe I put too much on? Maybe I didn't buff enough? If I buff too much then my face gets shiny quickly. Its possible that it has something to do with the moisturizer I use. I use Oil of Olay with a spf of 30. I have to because I have melasma and the sun causes parts of my face to darken quickly. Its horrible and I have a doctor prescibed creme for it but basically I have to stay out of the sun and wear sunscreen at all times. Third, in reference to the dark spots, when they are darker the Bare Minerals doesn't conceal that well. I know they have another concealer but I haven't bought it yet. I've use Bare Minerals for a little over a month now. Today was the first day I went back to my old foundation, just to see if I would miss Bare Minerals. My FAVORITE foundation ever for concealing and creating a smooth look is Studio Gear. I will swear by the stuff, but it is heavy and you definitely know you're wearing it. Now, a little about my face. I'm pretty fair, but I do tan (only, not anymore!) I'm oily in the T-zone and get those deep cystic type pimples every once in awhile. I also have larger pores on my nose. My pores have definitely seemed smaller since I started using Bare Minerals, but I'm also getting blackhead type clogs on my cheeks. Go figure. Honestly, I'm 50/50 on the Bare Minerals. I think I'll probably end up using both- Bare Minerals on most days and the Studio Gear for special occasions or when I need more coverage. My biggest downfall is making myself wash my face at night. I HATE doing it! By the way, I stopped using Mary Kay foundation when they changed the colors and formula a couple of years ago. I just couldn't find anything to match and the Ivory powder looked WAY too yellow for my skin.

You've all inspired me. My starter kit is on the way. Will report when it gets here. Gosh, this is a day of change for me. Decided to ship back a closet full of MK crap, and got a new foundation!

That's great shipnitback! I ordered my starter kit from the recommendations here too and I LOVE IT! I can't imagine using liquid foundation anymore and I can't live without Warmth, it's just such a great compliment to any skin, and I am really light in color (was an Ivory 204). Please do let us know once you've tried it!
P.S. Watching the video included really helped me get more familiar with the application techniques and a couple tricks too, so be sure to take a little time to watch it.

Thats so funny that you are light and you like warmth. I am really light (was Ivory 100) and I hate warmth. I feel like it looks red on me, like I am breaking out in hives or something, because I am so pale. Anyway, thought that was funny, the difference in personal opinion.

Hey SSW, I didn't like warmth either when I first tried BE, but now I blend a little of my foundation minerals into the warmth before I apply it. That seems to tone down the warmth, and really make it look like I just have a slight glow from the sun. I'll probably add even more foundation to warmth as winter sets in. I really like to look as natural as possible.

I use so little of the warmth, can hardly see it on the brush, and I spread it on my forehead and chin too - It's actually more of an all-over bronzer for me, so I think that's why I like it too, I don't concentrate the application in one place, since I am not much of a blush person anyway. I think too that the fact I have to much pink in my skin that it looks more natural for me than someone with more olive. (Is that what the 00 was? I can't remember. Yeah, I CAN'T REMEMBER! )

I always remembered it by "Yell-O" double O 2 olives in my martini MK is all 4 Pink (One more is 5, and that is Pink-ER!) and then dark ones are on and on.....

Hi WeileMom, I would bet that your face is itching from the bismuth oxychloride. Please visit www.beautyblisscosmetics.com/bismuth-oxychloride.html for more information. I don't want to take up space here writing about it. Suffice it to say, itching is a very common side effect BE. The kabuki can also scratch and leave minor abrasions on the skin, which can also cause itching and rashes. The shininess is also from the bismuth oxychloride. Why it's rubbing off in balls, I can only guess as I've never heard about it before. It is likely that your moisturizer isn't completely absorbed when you apply your makeup, so it absorbs the moisturizer and rolls off. An oil based moisturizer will sit on top of the skin longer and can cause this problem. Or it could be your skin is getting oily through the day. I would suspect it's a moisture related problem; it's just a matter of finding out where it stems. The blackheads could be the result of buffing (ie forcing) the makeup into your pores. Applying BE with a sponge might help with the itchiness, but you may notice the makeup "sliding" off your face more quickly. It's because bismuth oxychloride is very heavy- that's why you have to force it into the pores by buffing. I hope this helps you a little bit. Good luck!

Warmth seems a bad choice for cool skin tones or light skin. It didn't work for me, that's for sure. (I'm a neutral) I looked like a clown wearing it, It's much better suited to women with warm complexions.

Got the bare minerals. Jury is still out. I haven't tried the sponge technique yet. Hopefully that will give me more coverage...
