"WARM CHATTER THIS"

« on: August 08, 2006, 10:45:45 PM »

Help me!  I saw someone posted somewhere on here about finding mascara.  Well, I actually like the DISCONTINUED mascara because I don't like alot of eye makeup and I thought it gave you a pretty natural look....not like the new crap (sorry if any of you like it, it is just my opinion).  It clumps terribly and I hate it!  I am on my last tube of the old - Does anyone have a brand that they really like - one that is not too glamorous please - I just want to be me (a litte dressed up)!  :-*

I really like Mabelline's Lash Discovery, with the mini brush.  The brush is small, so it's easier to handle, not big, bushy and clumped up with product.  I haven't had it ever clump on me or apply too much product.  With one stroke, it applies enough to be able to control the lashes, but no look unnatural in anyway.   smiley

I just bought Maybelline Lash Express Turbo Boost, and it is thickening, but not clumpy (just kind of wipe excess off of tip before applying) I actually like it, and at night, it comes off easily w/ eye makeup remover.
if you're still in mk, have you tried the new one that is in the slim tube? (not the ultimate one, the other one...don't know the name) anyway, I just wondered about it.

I've heard bourjois is good, and I'd like to try it, but I just needed some the other day and bought the maybelline--and bourjois products aren't too pricey, can get on sephora.com

I haven't tried any of the new mascara except the ultimate - did I say I hated it??  Oh yeah, I said that.  Thanks for the recommendations - I will have to just pick some and try them....

Max Factor 2000 Calorie. Good thickening mascara.

It helps to always gently dab the end with a tissue before applying to avoid clumps. I used to dab the whole applicator gently. Otherwise, too much and lots of clumps.

justpinkenough, I think you are thinking of the Lash Lengthening. That's what I use - the black brown, and I really like it. I've gotten compliments on how my lashes look natural and really pretty.

I agree with 12BMKFREE on the Ulitmate, it's horrible. I think that is the one thing I've had returned to me more than anything else. It clumps and is sticky feeling and by the end of the day my eyes sort of burn (I wear contacts, so I can really feel anything in them) and there are little black dots beneath my eyes from the flaking of the mascara. It's just not a good product at all.

yeah, that one- I hadn't tried it but anyway, I'm happy w/ my maybelline for now. I am not super happy w/ that ultimate either- pretty packaging, I'll say, but they should have stuck w/ the Endless formula- I actually liked it and had many customers who liked it--anyway, thanks for the name MlleWT

Okay ladies.  I have to tell you that I really SPLURGE when it comes to mascara.  I order Dior Show from Sephora (on-line).  It's $23 but hey -- I am SO worth it!  LOL  The brush is soooo thick and it makes my eyelashes stand out on my face.  I just love it!

To be honest I really liked MK's Endless Performance with the curved brush.  But, of course, they always have to screw with their product line so they brought out the totally useless and awful Ultimate which always clumped on me.  I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who had that problem.

The Dior Mascara I bought a couple of years ago must not be that one, because I hated it and it didn't stay on!  By noon, I looked like a raccoon.

I used a Max Factor mascara for years and years (it was in a rust colored container with gold top) until they stopped making it, then I used Clinique naturally glossy for a long time.  There was one Avon mascara that was great, but the name escapes me (I always bought it during softball season from a team mom, and I stocked up--she had it on file!)  I just bought one from L'oreal, and I love it.  Of course, I have no idea which one!

I'm a lot of help here, huh!

Isn't it funny how we remember what the mascara looks like but not the exact name????  LOL!!!

I would love to find a mascara that didn't cost me $23 but I hesitate to just buy one to try it because if I don't like it, I can't get my money back.  I know there used to be a drug store that would reimburse you for cosmetics you didn't like.....does anyone know which drug store that was and if they still do that?

I'm incredibly picky about mascara so I would never use MK's - (crap on a stick). Literally left my eyelashes feeling like hardened sharp little spikes. Horrible stuff.

I like L'Oreal - they make great mascara. My eyelashes can still BEND even after it dries!! ;D

Ugh! Tell me about it.. I still have like 3 tubes of endless and I was thinking I can at least use it, because I can't get rid of it and YUCK! It's so crappy, that I rather just throw it away and don't even bother with it....

They are so frikin' cheap....    >:(

Loreal double extend or Lancome.  I'm too cheap to buy the Lancome anymore, but I did before kids.  I always hated mk's mascara and like a dork- I bought into the "mk head to toe"  and wore mk mascara way too long!  I am having the best time buying products I actually like instead of ones that are just sitting on my inventory shelf.   applaud  I just had to try the animated smiley.

MK ladies are really missing out on some really cool products out there by limiting themselves to "MK head to toe". I am such a cosmetic junkie with no brand loyalties. I try everything and to me thats girlie time for myself. Putting on a new face mask or new foundation. Although I think I will stop my foundation search with Bare minerals.
