Ok Sassy--- most of your scents have some Freesia, Peony, and almost all of them have some musk-- I see tuberose in several as well. Sevreal are warm, sensual scents---though the happy heart and the Be Delicious are more refreshing, they do have a bit of spice/amber in their background. Be Delicious has some sandalwood as well.

most of mine have sandalwood, spice, amber---some vanilla, and the florals are deeper--with tuberose, rose, lily--florals paired w/ deeper notes like sandalwood, spice or amber---that is my normal love. the Light blue is a bit of a break for me as is the Sud Pacifique--- but they still have a warm quality that is similar to my other favs. I find it all very interesting to research and learn about. Obviously, I'm a dork. sorry.

I can wear Ralph Lauren Pure Turquoise but Ralph Lauren Romance absolutely stinks on me---they are similar smelling just by sniffing the bottle---but they have enough differences in the combination of the different notes that they smell totally different on the skin--While the PT stays light and a lovely deep floral on me, the Romance turns powdery and like an old lady-not to stereotype, but we all have those scents that we associate w/ an "old lady" right? My cousin wears romance and it smells delicious---it reacts differently w/ her chemistry.

Thanks! the Be Delicious was a birthday present from my brother (which explains why it's different from the others) It's nice though.
My mom has a problem with fragrances "turning on her. She always has to spray a bit on in the store and wear it to see how it changes before she buys it. I always feel bad that she can't just buy the one she likes when she sprays it on intially.

Okay, don't laugh at mine....
I like Estee Lauder Private Collection
Ralph Lauren "Lauren" (the original in the red square bottle)
Ralph Lauren Safari (discontinued, but I found a couple bottles at the perfume outlet)
My husband bought RL Romance for me for Christmas and it's ok, but a little sweet.
Private Collection is my favorite, but it's hard to find. It's one of those old ones you have to ask for because they keep it in the back. I've been wearing it since college. I think I like Lauren just because it smells like the Kappa house to me....we all wore it and it just kinda hung in the air!

I remember Lauren--it has a very clean, classic scent. I had a sample of the Safari one time, and I really liked it! How do you find it? That is one I'd like too--just didn't know you could get it anywhere. I can't just smell a perfume and buy it either---I have to spray it. You should be good in a bout an hour to know how it will "turn" on you- It takes about an hour for the base notes to come out and you can be pretty sure how it will smell on you. So, you could test one out, walk around for a bit, then make a decision. I have no idea what Private Collection is--that's funny that they "keep it in the back" but that's ok. if you love it, wear it!

I do not wear much anymore but these are some I have worn in the past: 1. Oscar de la Renta 2. White Diamonds 3. Passion 4. White Shoulders 5. Volumpte by Oscar de la Renta 6. Tigress, yes I am that old LOL
Now I have Romance Spray Mist which I wear the most. I have Elige that I wear for more dressy and for really special occasions I wear Oscar de la Renta parfume. So far, my all time favorite is Oscar.

I have no idea what Private Collection is--that's funny that they "keep it in the back" but that's ok. if you love it, wear it!
A few years ago I was in the dentist's office and picked up Town & Country and there was an article in it about classic perfumes that they can't get rid of even though they don't have huge sales anymore and one of them was Estee Lauder Private Collection. I can't remember any of the others right off the top of my head, but they may come back to me if I think about it hard enough! The thing about Private Collection is that it absolutely stinks when you first spray it on, and sniffing the bottle is gross. But it has a great scent after about 15 minutes. One time my husband (we were newly married) went to buy me a Christmas present and I told him I wanted a new bottle of Private Collection. He went to Macy's and asked for it, but one of the perfume sprayers told him that it stunk and he should buy whatever it was she was spraying. I'm sure she was cute, so of course he did (and it had a useless free gift with purchase, too!) I swear, I had that dang bottle of perfume for about 10 years and finally one day I was cleaning and put it in the bag for the goodwill. Good riddance!

to Chaos Tamer--you like things w/ Jasmine and/or Sandalwood--your selections contain one or both of those ingredients. I've smelled Oscar--it's a nice one. to motr: thanks for your explanation---probably like Youth Dew or some toher fragrances like that that have been around for a while. You're right--some of them stink in the bottle-- a lot of them are fragrances that use man-made floral scents (chanel #5 was the first to use synthetic notes) and they change a lot on the skin. very interesting.
