Bumping this for the newbies......or if you've already posted, tell us if anything has changed on your bathroom counter!

My Aveda is finally all used up.  I will confess that I know have "chemical warfare" breaking out on my face :teehee: :teehee:  :teehee:

I'm now using either Garnier cleansing cloth or Avalon Lavendar facewash (depending on how lazy I feel!), Boots Botanical toner, Pure Simplicity Rice something or other (I'd have to go look) and Dead Sea Minerals moisturizer (from Target).  I just bought a big bottle of rosemary mint lotion at Whole Foods, too.  Smells really good.

So....what's on your bathroom counter these days????

I'm trying new cleanser/eye makeup remover--Caudalie foaming cleanser and their Grape Water as an eye makeup remover. At Sephora, you can get small sizes to try for 10bucks, and for the Grape Water, I think that's all I'd ever need-- you can swipe it on your face too, I'm just using it on the eyes.
Anyway-I really like them. Feels clean.
I still LIke my Stila foundation, but wish I had gotten the formula for more oily skin since it's summer. The formula I got would be great for my skin fall/winter---hmmm---(it's the illuminizing foundation)
Also got a Sephora brand waterproof kohl eyeliner b/c it was cheaper than the makeup forever aqua eyes pencil---it's all right, but if you want the best eyeliner out there that is completely waterproof and won't budge---makeup forever has got 'em--and they're worth the few extra bucks.
next time.

Also using an Olay spf lotion for day---it's all right-feels pretty good and has the right spf ingredients (you have to look for either avobenzone/parsol...or titinium dioxide or zinc oxide for it to give you full benefit) Like the Estee lauder DAywear better--but it's $40 and this was $10. oh well.
** IF you are using a sunscreen that doesn't have one of those 3 ingredients, or the new ingredient Mexoryl (but it isn't very prevelent in the US yet) then you are only protecting against sunburn, but not against photoaging and damage--fyi.

In just 1 drawer I have 1 of almost every color of MK eyeshadow (that I haven't used in over 4 months) in 3 of the display trays, plus loads of other stuff.  Then there's the other 3 drawers, the space under the sink, on top of my dresser, on top of the jewelry box, and in a carboard box on the floor by my dresser.... eeeek run away, run very fast

Oh, and it's changed again. As winter  came on I needed more moisture---
now loving Body Shop sensitive skin aloe gentle cleanser--and body shop eye make up remover lotion--both are inexpensive, considering they are things you wash down the drain.
loving Juice Beauty green apple spf 15 moisturizer for day--paula's choice antioxidant serum is still in the mix, love it! also still using paulas choice AHA and BHA products every other day---

using lorac foundation for winter for a little more moisture--the satin finish, it's great.
Loving my Bliss body butter and body shop body butter in almond--my favorite--

lorac take a brow kit has 2 shades of brow powder and a clear setting wax---love it better than brow pencil--have been using this for a couple of months now, I think it will last me a very very long time.

One of my new favorite products: stila convertble color in poppy---it is the absolute perfect cheek color for me and I can put it on my lips as well. It is the exact color of if I naturally flush, so it looks great on. Looks dark in the container, but it is gorgeous on and I'm fair.  I had to find a cheek color that was not shimmery--I'm just not into shimmer and sparkle anywhere but a touch on the eyes or in a gloss--anyway, this cheek color is awesome, it's a cream, but it's not greasy and doesn't stay "wet" feeling on my skin. Highly recommend these--they have 5 or 6 colors---

Cargo gloss tin quad in South Beach is beautiful, and their lip brush is easy to use. I thought I wouldn't like it in that form, but it is the least sticky gloss I've ever tried. Doesn't stay on as well prob. as the Stila lipglaze that I also like, but it feels so good and it actually moisturizes---love it. The brush is easy to use and take w/ me, and the brush part larger in size which makes it easy to apply gloss w/ it- and it has a great cap that keeps it all nice and neat in my bag.

at night for moisture I've been using olay regenerist micro sculpting cream--it
s all right, but I'm not too impressed and jars really aren't a good idea. I've read some good things about clinique moisturizers, so I think I'll try that next.

still using Lorac aqua primer w/ my foundation---like it as well. I even use a touch on my eyelids to keep shadow in place, as opposed to getting a sep. eye primer.

Stila shadows mainly--but for a base I use Bare Minerals Well rested all over as it's not shimmery, and for day I go very light on any shimmer on my eyes. Tried some new colors that I never would have tried had I not had the Sephora girl help me--I'm using a burgundy shade. Contessa or something like that, (more on the brown/purple side, not red) that I love along w/ a rosy/lavendar hue, and of course sometimes my standby browns/coppers. But I was very surprised by the colors--

Also love Benefit lip liner in Posh. its a warm, neutral shade and I like it b/c it's creamy and on the tip of the pencil there is a sponge tip w/ lid that is great for smudging and blending the liner so it's not a harsh line. I like to use this pencil and then just top it w/ gloss.

Got a new perfume for Christmas--The One by D and G---love it. It's very warm and earthy--

my drawer keeps changing and of course there are more things---but these are all of the things I actually am using everyday, and I would recemmend every one of them, except for the Olay jar of moisturizer I won't repurchase next time.

oh ya and I forgot to mention the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer, which is really good for alot of skin types, even sensitive acne-prones.

I don't have a Sephora or anything remotely like one near me crying so I get some things online.  From the huge list I rattled off, I don't use all of it, well not in 1 day of course.

I must say, for deep forehead wrinkles, the ROC treatment actually works, after the 1st day I saw a difference.  It's not a "line-filler-inner" at all, it's "Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Serum".  After cleansing w/ my Clinique, I use the Clinique clarifying lotion (it's really toner) #2 because it has salicylic acid - enough to treat and keep away blemishes w/o drying out my skin.

Then I use Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher (newer version in glass pump bottle).  I so highly recommend this, as it acts as a primer for makeup, it leaves a velvety soft smooth complexion look, and unless I'm having one of my random super-dry days, it acts as my moisturizer too.  Sometimes I'll put on some EL DayWear for the SPF because it moisturizes w/o making me greasy, and I like the light cucumber smell.  If I do start feeling dry, I'll use the Clinique DDML instead.  I finish w/ MK dual-cov. in Ivory 104 b/c I haven't found a replacement for that yet, I've tried though.  May have to give some of that Dior a try - maybe they sell samples online.

All that is during the daytime.  I like to save the good stuff for night, when half of it won't be deposited onto makeup sponges and will have time to do it's job.  I'm currently using up all my gwp's of EL ReNutriv lifting, which is awesome in serum and cream (very moisturizing) form, but I could never ever afford the stuff (starts at over $100/jar, the most exp. one is $900).  They don't even sell it at my EL counter here, probably b/c they know no one in this town could pay that much for skincare!  I got mine in mini-sizes from someone who wasn't going to use them.

Once the Re-Nutriv runs out, I'll use up my minis of EL Advanced Night Repair, the face and the eye formulas.  Which during these horribly dark months, esp. when it's cloudy during the day and I'm not even outside, I use in the daytime too.  No need for a sunscreen moisturizer in this weather.

I don't usually use any makeup, which is funny since I have so much.  I do love to experiment with it alot, and I'm not afraid of sparkly eyes, even during the day.

Heh, it's more like what ISN'T on my bathroom counter!  I'm still using up my MK Timewise stuff (cleanser, moisturizer, and microdermabrasion), plus I have this DHC olive oil cleanser that my sister got for me.  It's great!  It seems like it would clog your pores, but I've found the opposite is true for me.  I get a lot less blackheads if I use it, plus it completely removes my makeup, which the Timewise didn't do for me.  I also love the Olay deep cleansing clay mask.  It's not over-drying but I notice my skin is a lot more glowy and my pores look smaller after I've used it.

I also have a complete mish-mash of makeup.  RTP, I too used to use the Ivory 104 Dual coverage stuff, but now I'm using Meow Cosmetics mineral foundation and I love it.  I have a weird skin tone; it's almost neutral, but with a faint hint of pink.  Most pink based ivories make me look flushed or something, but this one (Frisky Bengal) is perfect. It evens out my skin beautifully and looks like I'm not wearing any foundation at all.  I'm still using up lots of MK color, which is fine, because I actually like their color products (except that Ultimate mascara, which gave me spider lashes!).  I also use a bunch of various drug store eyeshadows and my favorite lipstick right now is Maybelline Moisture Extreme in Scarlet Simmer.  It's a perfect blue-based red!  I'm also really digging Line Exact eyeliner by CoverGirl.  I'm kind of a liquid liner loser, but this one is very easy to use.  My mascara is also CoverGirl--Volume Exact.  It has one of those funky rubbery brushes, which look scary at first, but really do help separate your lashes and coat them nicely.

I have a few fragrances I rotate through, depending on the time of year.  For fall and winter, I used Hugo Deep Red, Spellbound, or Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom.  When it's warmer, I use Bath and Body Works Black Raspberry Vanilla.  I'm also dying to try that new Nina by Nina Ricci.  It's really light and sweet.

And that's not even getting into hair products (I have very curly hair, but I like to straighten it sometimes, so you can imagine how much hair stuff I have!)

I'm like you, Sassy!  I have a container for hair clips/bands, a basket for my brush and comb, another basket with four fragrances (Chantilly, Enjoli, Journey, and Exclamation).  Currently there's stuff on my side that needs to be put away...  I use Equate premoistened face cloths.

Now on my husband's side... groan  He has probably five different lotions, medications, etc...  Of course when he runs out of room on his side, he puts it on MINE...  double groan

My make up (when I use it) is in a drawer.  I'm a tight-wad and am finishing up my MK foundation and eye/cheek color.  But I RARELY use it, that's why after three years I still have it...  Although I have bought some different brand (don't remember) eye liner/shadow.  If I could figure out the correct colors for me, I'd replace the foundation and lip gloss...  *sigh*

Thanks, nynaeve, I may have to try that Meow stuff - where do you buy it?  I may have to look online.  No, Sassy, I don't have a big counter, just tall piles and over flowing makeup bags stacked on top of eachother!  :teehee:  I actually took pix cuz I thought you guys would get a chuckle out of it, but I can't post any pictures in the gallery b/c they're the wrong size.  I need to install that Adobe Photoshop thing I got 2 years ago...
Btw, Sassy, how do you put pictures inside your posts sometimes?

I have that question, too!  You described my skin tone to a T.

Will answer the "what's on my counter" question later...have to leave for a meeting (yep, on a Sunday evening, no less).  And heaven forbid no, not MK!!!  I gave that up months ago!!!

You can find them at http://www.meowcosmetics.com.  You can order samples (pretty good sized ones, too) for $1 apiece, which is how I was able to so nicely find my color.  There is a guide to help you narrow down your choices, because there are a LOT of options, plus if you think you're a particular color, they recommend a couple of similar shades to try.  It helped me a lot, because I wasn't the color I thought I was!  smiley

On topic, I've started using the Olay pore refining mousse, and I have to say, I really like it.  It has really little exfoliating crystals that actually EXFOLITATE!  It's not very drying, at least not for me.  Plus, the mousse is fun to use!

Thank you nynaeve77 for the info on Meow Cosmetics.  Missy the Cat would like to comment that she simply  Love the name!!!

Now, what's on my counter...this was an interesting question, the answer is really "too much" and this inspired me to clean off the counter of stuff I haven't used in quite some time. So thanks to whoever asked the question originally.

Depends on which one.  I'll start with the guest bathroom, which also serves as my staging area for all things swim team when we don't have guests staying with us; I'm a competitive swimmer on a Masters' team.  For example, the bathtub is where the tank suits dry, and my kick board, etc. hangs out when I'm not at the pool.

On that counter:

Ion Swimmers leave-in conditioner
Mario Badescu protective cream for swimming

Also, various bubble bath products with matching lotions (rarely used, since i'd have to move all that swim stuff out of the tub to take a bubble bath) and the stuff to clean my CPAP machine (for sleep apnea).

Basically, I get up at 5:30 am on workout days (yes, yuck!) walk in the bathroom, put on a tank suit, spray the conditioner in my hair (I color my hair, which is why I use this stuff) and then put this cream all over my face and neck.  I have really dry skin which is really punished with the pool chemicals, this stuff stays on throughout an hour-long workout, even with me sweating.

Now onto the counter in the master bath (this is the one that got cleaned, DH is SO happy!)

Cleansers:
Cetaphil - for when the rosacea flares up
Lush: Angels on Bare Skin - everyday
Lush: Ultra Bland _eye makeup remover

Moisturizers, etc.
M-A-C: MoistureLush Eye Cream - for eyes  :doh
M-A-C: MoistureLush Cream - day
MK: Intense Moisturizing Cream - night, winter
MK: Oil-Free Hydrating Gel - night, summer
Bare Minerals: Skin Revival Treatment

Misc:
Tooth stuff
Contact lens stuff
Glycerin drops for my ears, since the skin inside my ears gets dry from all that swimming!
Magick Botanicals:  Fragrance Free Shampoo and Conditioner - for chorus rehearsal days

All of my other potions and lotions and stuff are in places other than my bathroom counter!
