Do you think that MK skin care really made a difference for you?  For me personally, it did... because pre-MK I had NO skin care routine at all!!

What about the anti-aging/age-fighting stuff?  Do I need it?  Now that I'm going NON-MK in skin care... what do I really need to spend my $$ on?

Do we reallly need the lip primer, eye creams, blah, blah, blah???

the basic stuff works great for my skin....and i love the firming eye cream...when i was 'all MK all the time' i got my mom started on the ultimate miracle and her skin is looking much better as well....think the biggest thing is just doing *something* to cleanse and moisturize and defiantly protect against the sun!!!

Absolutely. The Miracle Set took years off my face. No one believes my age.
I don't sell anymore, but I remained signed up with MKC so I can get fresh product at a discount.

Funny, I discovered the products on Ebay. After purchasing stale product a few times, I signed up as a consultant to ensure receiving fresh product at the best discount.

Tried selling for six months, but it's not for me.

As long as this product stays good, I'll use it. Saves me the hassle of the hit or miss when trying other cosmetic lines.

I haven't had skin this clear since before puberty!  I use the Timewise collection - don't know how old you are, so you might not need it - and I'm 35.  I had a professional facial Wednesday - compliments of DH gift spa day!  The woman said she hadn't seen such a clear nose in ages.  Trust me, it was a mess of black heads up until about a month ago!

I started with the basic, it was fine.  Then TW came out, it was too much for my oily skin, made me break out.  Then the oily skin TW came out.  It was fine, until they changed it.  Then it sucked again.  Tried the V stuff for teenagers, it was ok.  But the smell was a bit much.

I no longer use anything MK.  But I do think the basic #3 cleanser is good.  All the sunscreens are lacking UVA protection, so that takes out half the moisturizers.  The rest either are too heavy for me or contain irritating ingredients that no one needs on their skin.  I think all the toners contain alcohol, so they are too irritating also.

I absolutely love the skin care and think it is the best stuff out there for the price.  My skin has not looked so good for 30 years.....yes, 30!  I totally believe in the product, just not the opportunity.  I worked behind the cosmetic counters for the top and exclusive brands for over 6 years when I was in college and high school, none of them have anything better and they cost much more!!!   There will be people who don't like the products, but they either used the wrong formulas, weren't consistent or just didn't have skin that agreed with the products....that will happen with any brand.   Someone said how terrific Dermalogica was, but I get horrible cystic acne from that line....every time.

I loove the oil control lotion and the acne treatment gel but the rest of the stuff doesn't agree with me.  Needless to say I am headed back to the dermatologist again this week.  The 1/2 price products listed above will be the only thing I miss about ole MK!

Keep the info coming girls!  I love to hear of everyone's experiences... good or bad... with MK skin care!!

I did not like the original TW cleanser... was greasy for me.  I do like the 'new' TW cleanser combo/oily... not sticky or greasy.  I like the TW moisturizer and always use the Basic #2 Freshener... especially in the summer.  My very fave MK product is Visibly Fit Body Lotion... I use it on my hands too... it is not greasy or sticky at all for me.  I also like the Oil-Free Hydrating Gel.  Eye creams are good too.  Of course this is all coming from a woman who had NO skin care program until 3 years ago!!

I have found a lip balm that I like better than MK though (The Savannah Bee Company Tupolo Honey at Bath & Body Works... ooo la la!!)!!

I love the TW face wash for oil skin.  I'm using it until I run out but haven't been looking for something to replace it.  I like the Aveeno face/scrubs cloths....  that's about it...everything else doesn't do it for me.

Okay...you asked for opinions...

TimeWise is glorified cold cream sold at 18 times the cost of what you could buy in a drugstore. I used it but I also noticed that it didn't remove all the makeup from my skin. Never. So it wasn't getting my skin clean.

The supposed ex foliation happening from those beads is extremely little to non existent. There aren't enough in there to do a thing. If you want exfoliation, a gentle circular motion with a soft washcloth will do the trick. It's funny...all the directors always told us in training that to get the TimeWise cleanser off your face completely you HAD to use a washcloth. Water alone won't do it.

The mineral oil that is an ingredient in some of the products accounts for the soft skin feel.

Lip primer? Waste of money. Try regular chap stick under your lipstick and it won't feather. Use a lip liner too.

Eye cream...mixed feelings on this. The eye area needs the extra moisture so if an eye cream will make you give it that extra dose, go for it.

Visibly fit body lotion...I like the new smell. The cost is ridiculous and again there are similar products available, just as good, for a fraction of the price.

I hear women who praise Mary Kay products frequently say that before Mary Kay they didn't have a skin care regimen. THAT'S the real reason your skin looks good--you're taking care of it.

In the end, however, it's what works for you. If you think the MK products are the reason, go for it.

Yes, the skin care has worked for me.  I have (or had) adult acne and Proactive and MK are the ONLY

(Sorry, typing too fast and hit the Enter key by mistake.)  But like I was saying, Proactive and MK are the only 2 things that cleared my skin.  Proactive left me very dry after continued use though.  The TimeWise broke me out like crazy, but works very well for my mom.  I have to give it to MK for having a product that really does work.

FemIntell,
I agree with you about the product, I have a couple of customers who got no relief from any other line or people (dermatologists), but MK worked for them.  I have heard some incredible stories from my own customers.  Of course, I have had some with bad reactions, too.  Just par for the course, I guess.

I love hearing everyone's experiences with MK skin care products!!  Thanks for sharing... keep your experiences coming!

My son was dealing with acne a year or so ago and was seeing the dermatologist.  The doctor had him on various topicals and also medication.  I convinced my son to stop all the stuff from the doc and 'just try Mary Kay'... so he did.  He went to the Formula 3 Deep Cleanser, Blemish Control Toner and Oil Control Lotion... also the Acne Gel.  It worked beautifully for him.  At his next appointment with the dermatologist my son told him what he was now doing... using MK products only and the doctor said, 'Whatever you're doing, keep it up!  It's working for you!'

Does anyone have any info on the expiration dates... the acne gel has an expiration date... can you use it past that date?  If so, does it just mean that the strength of the product isn't up to par?

Your MK Success has a Snowball's Chance in Hell

UYC - the voice of reason.  :amen:

I don't use MK because I can't stand to look at it, and I won't willingly support a company that's dedicated to destroying women's lives.

That said, I don't think there is particularly anything wrong with the products, but they're not anything you can't get anywhere else for much less. That's the point in an MLM. Further study of MLM will show you that the products are irrelevant - made just nice enough so they have the appearance of saleability and the claims are overrated by far about product performance, and they are overpriced. All hallmarks of any MLM. Before I get off on another "why MLM is evil" tangent...

While in MK for 5 years, I only used MK stuff, like a good little kaybot. It worked fine until I got pregnant. Crazy skin ensued and no combination of MK would work. I secretly purchased Proactiv, which I've been using every since (though I'm out of the proactiv closet now  :teehee:). It can be drying, so I make sure I have a good moisturizer.

I threw out everything I had of MK except 2 or 3 lipsticks and an eyeliner. It's like going to the candy store - Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens... ahhh... the colors, the selection! I could go wild. So far, I like Aveeno's stuff quite a bit - especially the positively radiant moisturizer, and I just got a new night cream from them. Oil of Olay sensitive skin is good, too.

Also, and you can check this out with dermatologists, anti-aging stuff is usually bunk. Alpha-hydroxy acids are the only thing that will "anti-age" you as they essentially peel off the top layer of skin. Other stuff, won't do anything to get rid of wrinkles or any other age-related damage to skin. Sunscreen is all that will prevent sun effects of aging (which are most of what ages your skin) - and sun damage takes 30 years to accumulate and present damage, so even if you protect now, you can still wake up and look old one day because you didn't protect your skin 30 years beforehand. Dermatologic procedures can help - like peels and whatnot.

Also, check out www.consumerreports.org. They have done stories on anti-aging products and rated them, basically exposing what I just said - it's all bunk to get you to pay a fortune.

And ditto everything UYC said.
