Yup those cards that tell you the order of things to put on actually do take a half hour every morning!! I've started dropping things from my regimen every morning seeing what I can live without - which is most of MK.

For the foundation - I've noticed that the MK foundation actually dries out my face and when I don't put it on for a few days, I'm not as dry... Anyone have any good experiences with another company? I used to use Lancome and/or MAC and thinking of going back.

I still recommend mineral makeup-- we have many converts on this site. smiley
also, look on sephora.com or go to your local store if you have one- they have their "best sellers" and I've read good things about several different companies, depending on what you're looking for in feel, coverage, etc. They have some great info. on their website.

I am making an effort not to use MK, simply b/c I don't want to support the company. I just can't stand to have their products in my house anymore.

Agree with Just Pink.  I love the minerals.  There are some nice deals on minerals sets at ulta.com and of course Lynn's (on the forum) beautybliss.com has wonderful mineral shadows and all.

 rofl

I remember hearing this too! From my recruiter. She freaked when she found out I didn't wear foundation. Then when she told me I need it for protection, I looked at the tube and said "there's no SPF in here."  giggle How did I ever get  recruited? they must have put something in my coffee.  Sick

Does anyone have any recommendations for minerals for oily skin? I have tried the L'Oreal minerals. It works OK but only lasts a short time. My skin is so oily that I am ready to give up on makeup.

Loreal minerals isn't really a mineral foundation. The ingredients listed on it (I checked it out before I bought bare minerals brand) are basically like a loose powder with some minerals added--
I think minerals are great for oily skin. Plus, w/ the bare minerals/bare escentuals line that I use, th emineral veil has some great oil absorbing properties and can be applied under and/or over your mineral foundation, and it completely disappears on the skin. YOu don't look or feel cakey or like you have makeup on.
I was very skeptical of the mineral makeup thing until I just broke down and bought the basic kit- for around $60 you get 2 shades of foundation, warmth, the mineral veil, 3 brushes, and 1 other freebie, and an instructional dvd- I bought mine straight from the bare minerals website, as opposed to through sephora. (I think, directly from the company, the freebie you get along w/ all of that other stuff is Well Rested eyeshadow, a great base shade. If youorder through sephora, you get something different)
also, they have good customer service- twice I've called or emailed w/ a question, or wanted a different color, and they immediately got it to me w/ no questions.
the colors are very forgiving. I was always an ivory 200 MK wearer, and I started out w/ the Beige mineral kit since it wsa summer, but am now using the light. The light has a warm/neutral cast, but like I said, they are very forgiving and you could prob. wear several shades.
I love it- can you tell?
I also have a couple of the eyeshadows- they're fine. They ahve nice cheek colors, and I love my nude beach shimmer powder- I put it on over my eyeshadow for some extra sparkle- and I love it. It's not glittery, but it highlights well.
Anyway, kind of lengthy, but that's what I've found. I absolutely love it. smiley

one more thing- with bare mineral makeup, since it is only minerals, it truly does have spf in it (although I wear a moisturizer w/ spf 30 anyway)- and it works. Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the minerals in it thta provide that sun protection, which you will also find in many good broad spectrum sunscreen lotions-- smiley ok- now I'm done.  *wave

I totally agree with JPE. I have incredibly oily skin, I used to have to reapply my makeup throughout the day, until I started using the Oil Mattifier (one of the only MK products I'll continue to use). I have found the minerals to stay on better, blend better and control oil better than any other foundation I've used. I also started with the same kit from Bare Escentuals, with all the freebies. The mineral veil is awesome because it does absorb oil and you can reapply it throughout the day if needed and it just disappears on your face. I think the next time I need more I'll be getting Lynn's brand, because there is a finishing powder with the same oil-absorbing properties I believe. I also LOVE the Bare Escentuals brushes that come in the kit - they make application a cinch and good brushes do help it blend better.

The SPF in the foundation is great too, because I often don't put on a separate sunscreen product.

Okay, I'm done now too!  smiley

It's kind of embarrassing groan to recall how many times I've spouted all of the same words about MK in front of unsuspecting women  splat ... why no one ever questioned me is beyond my comprehension!  I've just recently had to make a foundation change and switched to the Bare Escentuals (that was before I learned about Beauty Bliss ... samples are on the way, though!)  dance  anyway, I LOVE IT!!  This stuff is so great that now I'm wondering how many other MK products I need to replace!  I've been exclusive to MK for the last 15 years (8 as a consultant), but we are so far behind the times I'm thinking about all the other cool stuff I'm missing!  Sounds like another special ops mission to the mall is on my horizon!!   rofl   rofl   rofl

OK, I have wanted to try bare minerals for a long time but hesitated to spend that much. I finally put in an order over the weekend with bareminerals.com. They have the WORST customer service EVER.  crying Apparently I made a typo when I put in the exp. date for my cc. After taking 3 days to notify me of this, they won't even let me fix it online. I had to call and the first person I talked to was so rude!  Boo She treated me like a complete idiot. I was so mad. Finally the supervisor fixed the order.

I am not very confident that I will get what I ordered when/if I finally get my starter kit so I went back online and could not access my account to even see my order. I had to send another  bleepme email who knows if they will answer. So who knows what I will get.  crying Has anyone else had such a bad experience? I am wondering if I should just cancel this and order from Sephora or QVC?

I spent $75 on their stupid starter kit and I got the big runaround, wasted an hour and now have a headache! I have gotten better customer service at Walmart spending $5 on cat litter.

BAH HUMBUG to you, bareminerals.com  mad2

I went to her site and could not decide what color to get. I like the idea of the matte minerals that she has, but I don't know what color to get. LOL I know the only reason I bought MKfoundation is because someone told me what color to buy! I only went to bareminerals because someone told me what color matches the Ivory 205 that I was in MK.  crying

I was totally unsure of which ones to get so I got several samples (using her suggestions on the site about color) and they all look great!  I am now mixing teo together and have a great look!

Get a few samples in your skin tone (the ones that works for all tones are really good) and start practicing...  smiley

Sick Oh no!  Sick I even used the word noncommuni............. Wait is that even a real work or is it just an MK fancy word?  Oh well, it doesn't matter, I don't use it anymore anyway.   rofl  MK is big on using BIG scientific words to sell their stuff.
