This has bothered me for a long time...
Those little beads in TimeWise. There are green and blue. One is toner, supposedly, and the other an exfoliating bead.
Well, if you want to really exfoliate your skin, don't bother. There isn't enough friction there to do a bit of good. It's all crapola.
The best way to gently and effectively exfoliate your skin is with a washcloth.
Those little beads aren't going to make a diddly wad of difference.

Green and blue? They were pink or purple when I was doing it. Pink for normal to dry and purple for combo to oily.

That's funny you brought that up, because when I was a customer, I said the same thing to my consultant when I tried TW (it had just come out). I said "I don't think there's enough/any grit in there to exfoliate" - she assured me there was. I didn't buy it, and when I became a consultant, I ended up using the #2 mask as a scrub! I always thought that's why they tell you to use a washcloth with it, so the cloth exfoliates!

I totally agree about those beads (that use to be blue/green and are now pink/purple). I would use a wash cloth in the shower ontop of my timewise! Oh, and I would use the microdermabrasion to "scrub" too.
My dermatologist said that, for people with acne, using ANYTHING to SCRUB your skin is bad. The best way to exfoliate is with a chemical exfoliant. I use murad, and their exfoliater is an acid/get/tropical step. I can tell a difference in my skin....but it is hard to resist the urge to scrub away in the shower! I am trying to give the chemical some time and see how it does in the long run (only been using it for a couple of months).
She said that the wash cloth can hold many germs, and can actually scratch your skin, irritating it more, and causing more breakouts. Also, for people with sensitive skin, the laundry detergent or fabric softener can irritate your skin, causing dermatitis (red, bumpy skin). I was floored. faint
Just wanted to share that.

okay - I'm floored too! Was that really all a lie? I remember thinking it wasn't much of an exfoliation, either, but the "bursting and releasing vitamins" thing - was i really dunb enough to fall for all of that? oh man...

I can't say for certain that it's untrue that those bubbles release fresh vitamins and nutrients when burst, but...........this is MK we're talking about..........probably just the same solution as in the bottle just in bubble form, wouldn't put that past them at all!

Night solution- think about it. Most products that have active ingredients in them should be put in opaque packages so that light doesn't damage them and render them useless. Hmm--- clear bottle, don't know about that one. The only thing it had going for it is that it was a pump and fairly airtight-- actually, the moment they took the AHa (glycolic acid) out of the night solution was the moment that it ceased to exfoliate the skin. AHA's do exfoliate chemically, not the same as scrubbing, but safer for most people. However, the peptides that they replaced it with, while good ingredients and they have good reviews for certain things and ar ein other brands as well, do not exfoliate. the beads aren't in there for exfoliating anyway, but the idea that they magically know to disperse one at a time is pretty ridiculous, and a bunch of hooey. that's my opinion. adie
