For all you husbands and significant others out there, I thought I'd give you a heads up on something you will soon (if you haven't been already) subjected to.

Every two months or so, the various directors that got together to hold our Monday night meetings would conduct a Men's Night. That's when all the consultants were supposed to bring their husbands to see, first hand, the great new business that their wife was now a part of. We had food to get them there. Then one of the directors would be in charge of meeting with the men and presenting info on the company to them. At the end, the men got a quiz on all the particulars and the one with the most correct answers won a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

This is all part of the plan. So know what you're getting into.

Men's Night is nothing more but a furthering of the brainwashing. It gets the men on board so that they will "support" their wife, which simply means that instead of being mad that she is away from home more and more since joining MK yet not brining in much, if any, additional money, the husband is supposed to smile and not ask questions.

My unit has a monthly potluck that husbands and friends are supposed to attend -- this is where we get all our lovely prizes and ribbons...   groan

My husband refused to attend any of them -- thank goodness!  It was bad enough dealing with me when I came home loaded with complete crap!   Bash Bash

And the little hand written notes mailed to my husband about how wonderful I was got old real quick!   Bubble Bubble

Here it is called "Apple Pie and your Guy."  You are supposed to bring you hubby to a dessert social.  DH and I never attended, we barly get to see each other as it is (usually only 10 hours a week) and I didn't want to share him with anyone else.  Plus, I hate pie.

LOL! I'm not averse to pie, but the one event my DH attended (a Star Consultant BBQ where it was BYO food rolleyes) wasn't that great and he's only attended one other thing with me (unit seminar awards night). I don't think he's feeling the power of pink like he was supposed to rofl !!

as far as a men's night goes; i can't believe justme woulod have asked me to go to anything.  if she had, of course i would have gone, simply because she asked.  i would have had a good howl about it though.

i do recall she went to an overnight last jan, (i don't remember what it was called; career conference or retreat or something like that), and when she walked in the door ALL done up with a pink design nekerchief i remarked that all she needed was a big hat with a huge feather in it and a caddy in the driveway and she could go pimpin'.

again, as i recall that didn't go over so well. (being polite)
