Cadillacs? We don't need no stinkin' Cadillacs!

« on: December 14, 2006, 11:29:29 PM »

I shared this story in a PM to pinkedout.

Mary Kay doesn't have a monopoly on ridiculous dress by the members.  In the city where I live, a MLM scam called Team National is being promoted fairly heavily right now.  Several times when I've been in the local Denney's, a bunch of guys have come in all wearing Team National shirts and many of them are carrying laptops.  They look like some kind of cult when the're all together like that especially when I know that they aren't representing a car racing team.

I think it is, too an extent!  But, anything can be a cult if people make it into one!

If you're talking about this board being a cult, then it isn't.

Sorry to disappoint you.

I won't go into all the characteristics of a cult, but we're not controlling people's lives here or requiring them to behave a certain way or forsake certain relationships just to be here.

There a millions of groups of people everywhere who share certain common threads and they get together because they want to. That doesn't make it a cult.

in my opinion, a cult does not control your actions, but manipulates to take certian actions.

this board is the furthest thing from that.

UYC:  I don't think ANYone here thinks that this forum is a cult by ANY stretch of the imagination!  I think the "they" or "we" everyone is referring to is MKC.........the ultimate cult :(

You're doing a great job UYC and I was JUST thinking about you as I was fixing my lunch and unloading the dishwasher (yeah, it's never ending isn't it?!) how you handle yourself with such grace and dignity.  It just OOZES out of you.  I admire that greatly in a person (cuz I got somethin oozin out of me but it certainly isn't grace).

Thanks for all of your hard work on keeping this board running.  It's no small task!   Love
