ok--

last weekend was heartwrenching.  we saw some ugly stuff.  i do, however, agree with uyc.  time to move on.  i will again invite all guys involved with mk in some way, shape or form, to engage in conversation about anything. (with of course modified vocab)

i will miss tank.  ohmygodimarriedwho,  my apologies to you personally for my language, and hope you will engage me and hopefully stampman.

i will begin by opening a conversation (which was started an the men's board) about the nfl playoffs.  as you all know, i'm a pats fan.  and i do believe that they are well on their way to a superbowl.  i would love to hear why i'm wrong.

as i said, movin on.  let's have some fun, eh?

sounds good ren...any chance there's some NASCAR fans out there?  I can't wait for Daytona.  WOOHOO!!!!   I'm a big Nascar fan and having withdrawals until Daytona comes around.  giggle  Maybe that's why I didn't do so well in MK...I'm just a big ole redneck.   rofl

Oh yeah!  NASCAR!  Now you're talking Iowa language!  giggle  Who's your fav fedup?

Well ren, ohmygodimarriedwho? enjoyed watching the 49er's win against Denver (knocking Denver out of the playoffs).  Of course this is a source of contention as my FIL lives in Denver and is a huge fan!

i very much enjoyed seeing denver get knocked out of the playoffs.  after all, last year they knocked out my pats.  denver brought down by the 49rs, still having a hard time with that, but very cool.

as far as nascar,  it's nothing more to me than driving in circles.  don't get me wrong,  i understand it.  the physics, the stradagy, the goal.  i'm a mechanic, remember?  i just don't understand why it's such a big deal.  oh well.  LOTS of folks like it.  good for them.  lots of folks don't care about football either.

Yeah I think the 49er's have a lot of people thunking their head wondering HOW that happened, since the ONLY thing the 49er's have seemed to accomplish for about the last 8 years is LOSING!  giggle

Well, personally, when it comes to NASCAR, I like the crashes (as long as no one gets hurt) and the drivers chasing after the other cars  mad2 at them.  Makes me  clap clap clap

i don't care what anyone says about racing----  the ONLY reason anybody watches racing is for the crashes!

9ers keep losing, pats keep winning.  sounds good to me!

I used to like NASCAR but I'm not much into it anymore.  I liked the Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, etc. era better.  It's gotten too commercialized now like the college bowl games with everything named after a corporate sponsor and with the ticket prices in the stratosphere.  I went to the World 600 in Charlotte in 1983 and only paid $17 for a discounted ticket.  I'm suspect that seat is well over $100 today.  And speaking of pro football, I don't have a favorite for the Super Bowl right now since the Steelers got eliminated.

NASCAR anyday.  BTW have you noticed the price of a football ticket, much less a season ticket.  I use to be part of a pit crew for SCCA, timing and scoring.  It was a blast!

My husband would agree with you about the Steelers.  He was pretty bummed at the year they had this year.  He has been a fan since childhood.

I watch football now and then but I will watch the Superbowl....like all the hopla that goes with it and the new commercials.   giggle  We like to watch boxing also.. box2

I agree stampman, Nascar has changed so much over the years, to commercialized and the rule changes...just to much...I love watching the old races and when they went at each other.   giggle  Way to go Sicknpink, glad someone here likes Nascar.  My driver use to be Earnhardt Sr., but now my fav is Jr.  smiley there's alot others I do cheer for, like Stewart, Kane (so cute), Martin, Marlin and some others.  My fav track is Bristol, I only live about 3 hours from there but can't get DH to take me...he doesn't like crowds.  I'm so excited for Daytona to get here.  And I like the crashes too, as long as no one gets hurt.

Fed ~ I like to watch the Superbowl too!  Budweiser comes up with the Best commercial with those horses!  My personal favorite sport is Drag racing!!  I have never gotten into circle track races.  I did have the pleasure of meeting Davey Allison AND Dale Earnhardt back in 1989.  Very sad about those two!  Racing not quite the same without those names.

Ren ~ it looks like we need to get you some more men on board!  ALthough I am impressed with all the ladies answers!

very cool.

i do feel badly, i really can't stand racing.  that's why i haven't said much.  as long as it's a good topic that everyone enjoys, then go to town!  have fun with it.  i was taught if nothing nice to say.......

i also agree with stamp  i do like to watch races from the old days when they were actually STOCK cars.  like most sports these days, jut way over commercialized.

My Dad used to race cars back in the 60s and they had so much fun at those things...  Probably like Jypsi is talking about...

Now for real sports...  FOOTBALL!!  Football rules in this household...  DH and I both had our own fantasy teams this year and it was a blast!  Plus I am really into College Football so we have that to deal with too...

College -- Tennessee Volunteers!  Penn State, go suck an egg...
Pro -- Don't hate me...  Dallas Cowboys!  Although i hate the owner so much I may join DH and start cheering for the Super Chargers!  Go, LT...

See, girls can talk sports too...
