A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition.

I discovered that one of our local grocery stores gives a 10% discount to Senior citizens on Tuesdays (my hubby qualifies so he has to go with me), also the ads come out on Mondays, so i can plan what I need.

The same store gives you anywhere from $.02 to $.05 cents off per gal of gas on certain items that you purchase on sale...thye announced this week that they would allow you to collect and combine up to 5 grocery store receipts at a time...every little bit helps!

We also have definitely planned our errands and trips so that we try to do in 1 -2 trips per week instead of just going when we think of something we need.

We have cut out eating meals out except for 1-2 times per onht and then we do it during the week when we can get specials.  Most restaurants offer deals when you eat dinner out M-Th or we will go to dinner early or lunch late and get the lunch special before 4:00PM instead of paying a higher price for the same thing after 4PM.

I don't carry more than $2-3 in my wallet, because I have found that by having to use my debit card and writing it in my check book I am more aware of my spending and my bank balance.  Before each of us had a weekly "allowance" and you better believe if it is in your wallet you
WILL spend it!

Yes, Lipstick, the grocery store here does the same senior discount on Tuesdays, although only 5%.

I actually added the bundle to our cable/internet/phone. We had vonage which was about 30 a month, and then internet and cable were 100 (basic cable too!). So the cable company had a deal where you get phone, internet, and basic cable for 99, so we got rid of vonage and did the bundle deal, saving 30 a mo!

Oh I did that too SSW. It was a couple years ago so I have forgotten about it. I didn't save too much off the cost of services individually, but the phone service came with free long distance so that has saved me a TON!
