Spring has Sprung!

« on: August 31, 2007, 07:54:15 AM »

My DH just got a new job and we went out to dinner last night to celebrate. When we get home, guess who'd left a message on my answering machine? Kaybot My old director (who moved to a new state last year and has been watching the unit struggle ever since!) Now, ladies (and gents), this woman hasn't called me in months (because I haven't purchased or attended anything and I'm in "T" status.

She called yesterday because this is the second month in a row that she's about to miss production (the minimum- not to hit a higher level like she used to push us all to do.) Anyhoo, I feel kinda bad for her, begging for orders and all. I asked DH what he thought and he was like if you weren't planning to order anything, then don't (I love the logic men use! :teehee::csaw: I'm not planning to place an order (and I know better than to return her call), but I feel a little sad for her. She sounds desperate- she even mentioned that she was at the point where she was calling any and everyone who'd ever been part of the unit!

I'm praying for her, but I don't plan to contribute to the lunacy :jarcad: of keeping the boat afloat for her (and the same thing is going to happen again next month if she makes it!) Right now, she's scouring for "new recruits" to come in with $1800 initial orders to makeup for the lag in unit production.  Bash

Guys, I'm asking for you to pray for her as well. I'd imagine it's hard to let go of something you've vested yourself so far in. I'm sure she's clueless as to what she'd do if she wasn't a director anymore, but I'mthinking the time may be at hand for just that. She does have another business on the side, so pray that her focus go completely toward that instead of trying to fit a square peg (MK) into a round hole.

Thanks, guys and gals!  Cheers

Sounds like you still like your old director....and you know the road she's on and where it leads! :console:

I can understand your compassion wanting to help...but I have to agree with your hubby!

Men's logic sometimes is the best way! (Don't let my husband know I said that) :laugh3:

Perhaps this is all part of the grand plan for your old director...we all need to see the light someday!

I wish her well. :star:

Sassy2724, I think you are doing the best thing that you can, praying for her.  I agree with your husband too.  In this case please don't let yourself fall into a guilt trip and do something you don't want to do or will regret later.  I don't think that you will.  HUGS for you.  Congrats for your DH and his new job.

Sassy,  I also agree with your hubby.   If you save the day this month, then there is always next month.  Hopefully through these circumstances, the fog will start lifting from her.

Sassy, you are a gem! I think its wonderful that you are concerned about your former director, but I agree with you and the consensus here that trying to help by placing an order would not be wise.  However, I definitely think prayers are in order for your director. Also, congrats on your DH's new job!

Maybe this will be her clue to get out of MK and do something else with her life.

Thanks for all the advice, ladies! I think I took the best route (not returning the call and just praying for her). I wasn't home this evening and I also had my cell off (I was at a wedding rehearsal), so if she has tried to call again today, I missed it. I'm sure she'll send out a mass e-mail tomorrow, so I'll keep you all posted on what went on for "month end."

If she sends an email, I would suggest replying that you feel bad that she is struggling because you know it is hard to see her dream floundering, but through this website you found many ways to heal and learned that many of the struggles of directorship in MK aren't at all her fault.  Maybe she will take a look and see that it is not worth the effort of keeping a unit alive.   :console:

As long as it is non-judgmental she may really appreciate your concern.    :wishes:

Alright, ya'll- here's the scoop. She sent an e-mail today:

Hey gang, wanted to let you know we finished out the month and we are now progressing into September. Thank you to everyone that ordered and made a contribution in any way. You can call me if you need me between now and Tuesday but I won't be on email or in the office. I had a great conversation with *** (my Sr Director) earlier and she is excited about all the changes we are implementing, looking forward to sharing them with you next Sunday.

Apparently some lady bought $1800 in product so she can "really start working her business" although she was never really involved when the unit was going strong! :nuke: I KNOW she'll come calling again at the end of September. She's planning to be "a director part time and a full-time consultant to gre-grow/strengthen the unit. I don't know how well that will work, but I guess we'll find out soon enough. Oh well, this can't go on forever.

Oh this is sad.  The vicious cycle starts again.  Maybe one day she'll get tired of the pink hamster wheel.
