Rockin' and rollin' at the lighthouse!

« on: August 31, 2007, 12:53:20 PM »

Those of you who know the story know that I feel a little betrayed by my former director - someone I considered a friend... but anyway, I didn't really want to have bad feelings between us.  I just wanted out...

Well, she had 'pie in the sky' aspirations, shot to directorship fast and furious (remember the story about the poor lady and the $3k order?)...

I checked her marykay.com site today, and it says 'Independent Beauty Consultant...'

I guess she lost her directorship!  She had the platinum grand prix and everything a year ago.  I am wondering - should I let it be?  Should I send her an email with a link to our website?  I dunno..........

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

I guess your actions depend on many things...
1. Is she out of the pink fog?
2. She may be embarassed by her previous behaviour, therefore will not be the one to make contact.
3. Sounds like even with all the history you share with your old director that you still care on some level.

With those things in mind I would probably send a link and a nice little thinking of you note. You don't have to mention that you noticed she's no longer a consultant  :csaw: Oh the temptations....

Good luck with what ever you choose!

I recently noticed the same with my former director.  I'm thinking about writing to her to tell her what I didn't like about MK when I was in it.

For example: I didn't agree with her telling me where I could and could not go on the internet.  I didn't agree with her telling me to just "find customers who will buy it" when I complained about all the bronze foundations sitting on my shelf.  I didn't agree with her encouraging us to "get our star" for the quarter.  (I do, however, take responsibility for buying the product that I did, I just don't think her encouragement was warranted, because so much pressure was put on being a star).

I would just send a "thinking of you" email and see if she responds to you before sending a link.  She may need help in recovering, but she may not be ready for it yet.

Since I do know your story, I think the demotion is funny.  But I'm not sure I would send her a link out of the blue.  The thinking of you email might be a good way to start.  But ask yourself if you want this lady back in your life?  If the answer is yes, then proceed.
