I was hoping I could ask for some prayers as I try to find a job that fits my skills.  As many of you know, since I sold my business back in April I have applied for positions here and there but have not really found anything that's promising. Thankfully I've stayed busy helping my sister plan her wedding, but now that is over and she's moved away, and I am not looking forward to being cooped up at home all day. It also doesn't help that our dog, my daily companion, just past away and has left me with a very quiet house. 

Any prayers you would be so generous to offer up for my job hunt would be greatly appreciated because I am definitely feeling stressed, nervous and a little depressed (I'm fighting it!).  Thank you! 

Velocity, you are in my prayers...  You are so intelligent and have so many wonderful traits, I know the PERFECT job will arrive soon!  No depression allowed from you... 

And you know how sorry I am to hear about the furkid...  I am so sorry to hear that and will add some prayers for you and hubby on that one...  Big cyber hug coming your way!

I just saw this thread too. Velocity you'll absolutely be in my prayers - stay faithful and God will lead you to a position that's right for you. Find a company you're interested in and stay tenacious (I went through 9 interviews, exams and an essay test to get the job I have, but I work for one of the Top 100 Companies in America so it was worth it!). Okay, I have to admit that I've avoided this thread like the plague! I've had very little luck on my job hunt and needless to say its been very discouraging.  I was offered a job, but turned it down because I didn't feel like it was a good fit and believe me I have second guessed that decision ever since.  It didn't help that a major mortgage company here in my hometown laid off 2000 employees, one being my brother, so the job market has become even more competitive.  Anyway, I actually have a promising job interview tomorrow and I'm very excited, although guarded. I had a phone interview yesterday that was supposed to last 10-15 minutes....well an hour later we ended our call and I was told they wanted to meet me in person. They told me that over 100 people applied for this position but they had only interviewed a handful of people. So while that is very encouraging I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high because 100 other people are also vying for this same opportunity.  So God willing tomorrow will go well - I'll keep you updated.

Velocity....that's a really positive sign.  You've definitely engaged their interest.  It should make you feel great that you were one of only a few people selected for an initial interview....and now they want to meet you in person.  You'll nail the in person interview.  You're fabulous.

But, I'll still say a prayer, nothing wrong with stacking the deck.
