Please pray for my baby girl--she is 5, and she is everything to me and my husband, and the best big sister in the world. She has been having real struggles with her vision. She has been legally blind in her one eye since birth, and in addition to that has several other eye problems going on at once. She just had to start wearing a patch 6 hours a day, and she hates it so much. She is afraid for other children to see her. Sometimes when I put it on, she just lays on her side and falls asleep. She is also getting headaches. Also, later on this week, she is getting her glasses prescription switched to bifocals. I just want her to be happy and to be able to see okay. Thank you for your prayers!

Of course I will pray for your daughter!! Eye problems can be very scary at any age, but my heart goes out to her for dealing with these problems at such a young age. I'll definitely keep you, your daughter and the rest of your family in my prayers.

My prayers are with you and your daughter as well. Is she wearing the patch to help strengthen her seeing eye? I ask because I've seen this work. There is definitely hope.

I will most certainly pray for your little girl -- and for you too so you can be strong enough for the both of you.

Thank you for your prayers. I guess I'm just extra worried because the doctor said to patch 6 hours a day--which is such a large part of a little girl's play day. I normally stay very positive and thankful for all God's done for me, but my daughter has always been my weak spot. I know God sees the other side of this even though we can't:)

Of course your daughter is your weak spot, she's your baby! Keep putting your faith in Him and know that there is a reason for this struggle, for your family, you and your daughter.

Littlegirl, my son is almost 5 and I can totally relate to you! DH and I both have terrible eye issues--both of us legally blind, DH had double cornea transplants at the age of 21. Thank God, both of us are able to have functional vision, thanks to modern science. But, it is always our constant prayer that our son doesn't have more severe issues because of heredity! Praying for you and your family!

I appreciate your prayers and thoughts. She has been pretty good about wearing the patch. I bought a bunch of barbies at goodwill, and have been crocheting them tails and she gets a mermaid (her current obsession) every few days of wearing her patch for 6 hours a day. I think that it helps that her patch has a mermaid on it. Anyway, she's switching to bifocals next week, and has her next appointment in two weeks. At first she would only lay on the couch while wearing the patch, but now she is doing puzzles, playing games, dancing, drawing, etc. What helped the most was having her wear it first thing in the am, then just wear it until the six hours are up. I don't think a five year old has a great concept of time anyway, so this way--when she's done, she's done. I appreciate youall so much. booted--heredity didn't play a part--she may have been injured during childbirth. They don't think she's been seeing out of the one eye much since birth. I first noticed her eye looking different when she was just a newborn. It's weird, because my husband and I always knew something just wasn't adding up with her. We thought it was her hearing at first, but then her eye started to cross. I'm just glad we can get her treatment started. I feel so fortunate, because we live near great doctors, which wasn't true when she was younger. I hope it encourages those of you who are parents that face a challenge with one of your kids. I guess you just have to be strong for them and take it one day at a time. God bless you all and have a great weekend with your family!
