It's really hard to not do anything...my parents are leaving today, and my mom keeps yelling at me, "IF YOU PICK ANYTHING UP AND LOOK LIKE YOU'RE READY TO DO ANYTHING YOUR HUSBAND WILL THINK YOU CAN DO IT ALL!!!!!"  So I am practicing looking really weak and helpless, even if I feel like I could do most things now...

I have about 25 staples in my tummy and it's evoked some interesting conversations with my 5 year old!

Soooooo I am going to try to stay online as much as I can so I won't be tempted to get to organizing my house!

"IF YOU PICK ANYTHING UP AND LOOK LIKE YOU'RE READY TO DO ANYTHING YOUR HUSBAND WILL THINK YOU CAN DO IT ALL!!!!!"

I hate to tell you your Mom is right! It way too soon for you to be doing anything! Like it should be eight weeks before you should be lifting anything more than 5lbs...I'm sure you don't want to rip/damage anything on the inside. I totally understand how you are feeling! I had surgery on my ankle six weeks ago...have have been house bound (cannot drive d/t the fact it's my right ankle in a cast) and unable to walk! I made the mistake of getting a chair and cooking a meal in the kitchen...since then my husband has not been as helpful. Don't get me wrong, he does help...but he really hates cooking and as soon as he realized I could...he stopped trying. So for at least the next couple of weeks be the "weak and helpless one" :teehee: It hasn't even been a week since your surgery!

I'm one of the nurses round here that TUP said "would hunt you down" aka be incredibly bossy and tell you sit and take it easy! No vacuumming! Sit down read to your 5 year old, play on line, catch up with Maury Povitch :laugh3:

When do you go to get your staples out?

Yeah, I know you guys are right....My hubby is just not the helpful type, as many of you have heard me rant!!!  Oh well.  You know, he was so glad to have my parents here.  I think this really freaked him out!  He even TAUGHT the day I had surgery!!!! :doh He just doesn't know how to function outside his own little realm.

My mom deep cleaned my bathroom today  :yays: and it looks unbelievably clean!  Garsh, I NEVER clean it that well!!!!  I think I'll be all set, and will just settle into resting after a few days.

I get my staples out on Friday.  They're starting to itch a little, so I took my tummy thing off (you know it's like a huge wrap-around girdle), and then my tummy got all puffy!  I called the nurse and she told me that girdle is to keep my fluid buildup to a minimum in my abdomen... :ooops: I guess I'm just glad I didn't gain 5 pounds in 5 minutes!  :teehee:

who's Maury?  just kidding!  I guess I'll get all my homework done PRONTO!  :hi5:

Now what did I tell you last week?!?!  Didn't I tell you NOT to overdo it??  Yes, I do believe I did.  And if you don't start taking it easy, me and my little PLH army are going to come to your house (don't worry--I'll find it!) and make you stay in bed!!   :laugh3:

Prayers going out to you for a speedy recovery, sweetie!!!   :amen:

Okay, feeling good about this, gals.  So here's a little celebration to those of us who can kiss Aunt Flo goodbye, either by surgery or the big M....

If I was not able to cook, my honey would starve...  He is clueless in the kitchen!

And yes, Sassy C, that is EXACTLY what I was referring to -- these are some strong nurses around here, and I know y'all can tell our friend Free to take it easy...

And Free!!  I am sooooooooooooo jealous that Auntie Flo is no longer visiting...  I am sick of her!

PLH Army to the rescue!!   :autmn: :autmn:

Kathy, are you a Harry Potter fan?  The reason I ask is, I started reading your post and actually pictured Molly Weasley getting after her kids or husband.   :1lmao:  Dang, I wouldn't mess with you.  :teehee:

You know, after the Big M I was very, very happy to kiss Aunt Flo goodbye, but then Tante Testy moved in.   :laugh3:  Oh well, she doesn't hang around as much anymore.  Thank goodness.

STAPLES ARE OUT!
 :yays: :yays: :yays: :yays:

So I can go back to work in 4 weeks, 2 hours a day!  That gives me a deadline and some hope here...the leaves have started changing and I haven't even been able to see them!   Oops, I promised UYC no whining.   :doh

The other piece of good news, the cyst was completely benign, wasn't a chocolate cyst, whatever the heck that is, but the abnormal cells they found were not cancerous.  She also found endometriosis on my uterus, so she was glad we went ahead and took it to ward off any future issues... :autmn:

Congratulations on the good news! I'm happy for you that you'll be able to get back to work in only four weeks! I'll only be a couple weeks behind you! Like you...I can't wait!

Now I better do my "get some rest bit" for fear of being accused of being too easy on you! :teehee:

So, ahem... here goes....you better not lift a finger other than to get your little behind to the can..... :laugh3: :muahaha:

Take it easy darling!
