Hi all,   wave

It seems like lots of you have experience in shipping back inventory, so I guess I've come to the right place to ask a question.  Did you tell your director and recruiter that you were shipping back your inventory?

This is a super hard desicion for me.  My director is my former roommate (and a friend of mine).  I know her well enough to know that she's very guillable and impressionable (acutally, just not very smart if you want the truth).  I know she's not vicious, and is just a pawn for her Director (who is NIQ, and who I absolutely can't stand  witch).  I'm sure my Dir didn't screw me with a HUGE inventory on purpose, but was just going along with what her Director told her to do which was to tell me that I had to come it at the Emerald level to have a "full store". What a bunch of BS.  My recruiter had nothing to do with me buying a huge inventory (I don't think she's even active anymore)....will she get charged back for my inventory as well?

I'm so irritated with myself for falling for this whole mess.   mad2  But let's face it, with 75 grand in student loans...some extra cash sounded REALLY nice.  Luckily, I still have plenty of time to get out.

Thanks for your time y'all.  I look forward to your comments.

You don't have to tell anyone. I told my reqruiter because it was my sister but I had given her a heads up when the check came in not to cash it till I made my decision so she isn't really getting hurt.  This is not your fault, its mk's. They are the ones doing the chargeback, they could let the reqruiters keep their money.  But that is the crap of mk.  So yes, someone will get a chargeback but this is not your fault.  Now you have to take care of yourself...trust me, the amount they chargeback is nothing to the amount you owe from pink debt! Everyone is aware of the possibility of chargebacks when they recruit, how they handle their money isn't your business.  As for your director friend, she got herself into this, not you.  You don't owe her anything, in fact she has gotten recognition off of you so in a twisted way she owes you.  If you want the guilt trip, sure let em know.  If you want to explain but not have a conversation, email is great.  Thats what I'm doing.  I found it is pointless to argue w/ brainwashed people and they will come to their senses eventually.  Good luck!

Thanks for your input.  I've been tossing around the idea of shipping back my inventory for a while now.  I get a little closer every day!  Hearing that they are changing the foundation (of which I have 2 of every shade and formula) and the shape of the eye shadow and cheek color (again 2 of every color) has about pushed me over the edge.

Hmmm, well - I did call my recruiter before I called the repurchase department because I value her friendship and wanted to give her a head's up.  I e-mailed my director however, because I just didn't want to get the phone call from her.  She seems like a nice person, but she plays all the inventory pushing games, so I don't feel badly about her getting charged back. Maybe the fact that I've never actually met my director made it easier for me.

The way I squared it with my recruiter (just to salve my own conscience) was I gave her product in the amount she would be charged back.  Works for me. She's very trusting and follows bad advice some times, she had no idea she would even be charged back.  But with everything I'm telling her I'm sure she'll start investigating things now.

I know you'll make the decision that's right for you.  But, I just want to encourage you to send it back and be done with it.   smiley  wave

I was planning on calling my recruiter.  I feel really bad for her, as I think she's struggling (she's on a "break" from Mary Kay right now).

You know, if she's struggling, she might appreciate hearing about this forum.  It could really help her see that it's not her fault.  She could at least get all the facts and make an informed decision about whether she wants to continue or not.  Just my  twocents   smiley

Thanks for all of your help and suggestions.  I've received more help and advice in the 2 days since I've joined this forum than in the entire 8 months I've been a consultant!   yourock

One more question, ladies.  I just called for my form to ship my inventory back.  I asked how much I was qualified to return and was told all of the section 1 product I had purchased in the last year.  Were they supposed to give me a dollar value?  How do I know how much I will get reimbursed for?  There are somethings I will keep if they aren't going to give me any $$ for them.

That's crazy how they didn't told you, just call again request the repurchase form and ask how much $$ amount you are eligible to return back and ask if that amount is retail or wholesale?...

What a bunch of morons.. They are trying to be sneaky.... Boo Boo

Creeps!

Yes, do call back and ask for your amount!!  That is all they care about when it is returned, so them telling you what you purchased is bulls%#t!
