I've been thinking about sending my inventory back.

I've been trying to sell it at a discount so I can recoup some of the product that I bought, because I thought that with the comercials coming up I was going to get alot of referrals from that, Plus, as long as I'm active I am supposed to be getting referrals to my website, but I have checked when I put in a $200 order and I don't see my name come up when I search for a consultant in my zipcodes.

Anywho, I was rambling there.

The only problem that I'm having is I'm late calling about the big order I had that was $2400, I should have called by June 12th so now if I sent it back I would only get $1035 back. I'm not sure that it would be worth it. So I'm torn, just needing some different views and opioions and ideas of what I should do.

Too, do they give you back the sales tax on it? and who pays the Shipping?

Thank you so much for letting me get this off my chest and mind. Cheesy

Perhaps their Repurchase Dept. has turnover as high as their sales force. . . nah, couldn't be possible.

I just sent my inventory back yesterday!!!  It was not a hard decision.  I kept the things I know I can use, and everything else went into two ups boxes.  I thought about staying active just for personal use and to service a few customers, but who needs $2500 wholesale in products just for that?  My director tried to use guilt on me, told me that my recruiter would have to give back commissions and that I should try to just sell it on my own.  I ignored her self-serving advice.

They told me it would take 4-6 weeks to process it, and I should be getting a check back for about $2500.  They said they would deduct the value of bonuses and prizes, what is your experience with that?

Thanks to this board, I know I am not alone.  Consultants need a place to expose the dark side of Mary Kay Inc.  I started to see the light when the pressure to recruit more people started in.  I actually interviewed 28 people during the second quarter of this year, and only got 1 recruit.  That is when I started to realize something was wrong with this "opportunity" because none of the "sharp" women I talked to wanted it!

Thanks to all of you on this board!

That sounds completely normal, one director I talked to said she interviewed at least 70 to get 5 recruits. Maybe people are finding this website, and nobody wants to tell the MK rep that.

I realize that this doesn't have anything to do with returning inventory but in reading these posts, I still can't believe how much I still hate the word "sharp".  It makes me almost nauseous!  How can one little word cause so much pain?  LOL

I phoned Dallas last week for my repurchase form.  They are letting me send back about $400.  Unfortunately, that still leaves me with several thousand here!  crying

Why did I hang on so long?

Can someone answer this --- since HQ was able to give me a dollar figure on what I can return, why do I have to box up stuff and pay postage to return it?  They have to dispose of the product anyway, so why does it have to be shipped back.

The eligible return amount is just that --- eligible return amount.  That isn't going to change no matter how much or little product is returned.  I don't get it.  ???

pinkylee, they have you send it back (even though they just destroy it) to stop you from going through with it. Some consultants see all the time and trouble involved with packing it up and the cost of shipping it back and say forget it. Then they keep the products or give them away, but can still be considered a consultant (until they are terminated because of inactivity) but at least the company doesn't have on their record that another consultant ended their business. . . it's sort of a game really.

I will be sending my inventory back on Moday!!!!  When I called HQ they told me I can send back just over $5800 worth of product.  I thought wow do I even have that much left?  My husband and I went through what I had and we found out I don't, but, I do have over $2000.  So we got happy over that!   There was some I wanted to keep because I use it but the rest is going back  I guess I sold more then I thought!  So this is it, we are going to have a GREAT CHRISTMAS this year! rofl rofl rofl rofl

You're right it's going to be a great Christmas...you don't have to sell "sets" or run around office buildings with antlers on and a big basket of "custom wrapped gifts"  Jumping   Enjoy your refund - I loved making that gigantic payment on my debt  clap clap

Ladies, Please help me out here-------I have been seriously pondering the thought of reconsidering my decision not to send product back to the company--when Ireceived the form in and saw that commissions would be deducted I got totally ticked off and threw it away..........but now I've contacted the company again and found out that I can return about $7000!!!  I also went to another site that stated MK does not check what you return against what you origianlly purchased (meaning if you've traded with other conultants for products you never purchased, you can still return them and get a refund) --If that's the case then I can certainly get ahead sending product back (I've bought out several consultants way below wholesale)--does anyone know if it's true that the company does not check the inventory list???????  PLEASE HELP-------I want out of this CC debt!!!!!!!!!

Hey Done with DIQ.  I was reading that on another post (not sure where) that they didn't even check the inventory -- just sent the check.  Its my understanding you just return the product totalling the amount they give you and that is it.  I can't imagine they would spend the time monitoring something like that --- then again ......

Anybody else know?

Okay, this is the way I understand it.  So MK is just interested that your retail matches what you can send back.  I was in for 3 years and sent back some product that I had purchased in my first year.  It looks funny on the commission statements when you get a chargeback, but they really just count the retail value of what you turned in and match it to the retail that you are allowed to send back.
