Sent my $848 in wholesale products back to MK today!  Sent Fed Ex with insurance.  Postage was high, $148 but oh so worth it and a good tax deduction for next year.

It seemed I had such a short time to return, called on 1/3 and had to return by 1/15/08.  Maybe that's normal, anyhow it's done!

With all the great advice from this website and Anne of Anneszoo, I sent back my oldest and hard to sell items.  Anne is looking at what I have left (2 year's worth), then I can keep "the what's left" list circulating to liquidators, active consultants or try EBay for myself.

I couldn't believe how much product I had sitting there (I approximate $5K w/s).  My husband was quick to use the freed up shelf space and I was glad he did.

What was really INTERESTING, was the responses I got from my Director and Recruiter.  D--really nasty and full of herself  R-very understanding and not much said.  The thing is I had to contact them because they did not call or email (I really expected something since we experienced the Fernley flood, too).

So I sent them a questioning email, challenging their "so-called" Christian ethics and got jumped on.  Anyone interested in seeing the responses, let me know.  I'm over it, but sometimes I am just too nice, then I got really mad and let my feelings be known.  True colors came out on all sides, but I feel clean AND FREE!!!!!!!

THANK TPL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, WWIT (a little long, but would love your comments!)

MY EMAIL:

I am wondering why neither one of you has called me.

OK, I didn't expect you to call to talk me out of returning my inventory to Mary Kay Inc.  Maybe you'd like to know the reason.  My husband has been somewhat laid off, his hours reduced to 20 a week (if that).  His employer may be going out of business.  He has been interviewing.

The thing is we can't live off his reduced hours.  Also, our mortgage made a huge mistake on our home loan, put us in a variable rate when we insisted on a 30 year fixed rate.  This was only discovered after we received letters from the mortgage company saying a balloon payment is coming in February.

Next, I thought at least I would get a call or an email to see how the flood affected us.  It came within 6 feet of our home, we were told to evacuate, but we are blessed by God that we have no damage (but our home is de-valued and our front yard/rock landscaping is a mess.  All I care about is our neighbors who lost everything.

Anyhow, I thought being in Mary Kay was like a family and followed Christian morals and kindness.  I am very disappointed in not getting any communication from both of you and it makes my decision to leave MK a confirmation that it was the right thing to do.

I will not take any phone calls from either of you now, but you can email.

I can only look to our Lord to ask who is "real" and hope that my husband can find his faith again in "so-called Christians".  It's by our live's actions, not words that we are known.

Gail
No longer pink and glad of it!

HER REPLY:

The pain you are experiencing comes through loud and clear in your email, and for that I have tremendous compassion and sympathy for your difficulties. Because you are suffering, I can understand your inclination to lash out.  However, I must point out that your anger and disappointment are misplaced.  It is simply not reasonable to have removed yourself, almost entirely, from our Mary Kay unit and then expect to be top-of-mind when something tragic happens.

From my perspective, more than two years ago, you simply disappeared; stopped coming to meetings, stopped calling, stopped Emailing, etc.  YOU chose not to participate anymore with your Mary Kay family and, consequently no one in our unit would have had any idea that you would want communication after the flood.  Our silence is simply a result of you cutting off the relationship.

Again, I know you are hurting now, and I will pray for your problems to be resolved quickly.  But I also must point out that it is unfair to label someone a "non-Christian" when they don't perform the way you would like.  Perhaps you may want to consider how it felt to me when you disappeared from our unit without saying a word.  I considered you a friend as well as a unit member and found your actions hurtful, but I never doubted that you are a Christian.
I realize that all Christians have human frailties and can have different perspectives which do not affect issues of salvation.

I sincerely wish you well.

MY REPLY TO HER 'PINKED' MIND:

You are full of it!  You cannot blame me, you are in it for the commissions!

Being in the flood has nothing to do with being in MK!!! Your mind is full of MK lingo so you are not thinking straight.  You knew I went to work and was only doing MK very part time.  I did not disappear, you stopped contacting me and I chose not to participate in the unit, but I read all your emails.  I even went to your website to see how people were doing and were happy for them when they succeeded.  So you cannot tell me it's my fault.  Things change and remember when I signed up "try MK and see if it works for you".  I sent my weekly accomplishments to you every time I had orders.  I COULD NOT and WOULD NOT miss work to attend Tuesday daytime meetings or use my Saturdays to get "HYPED" up and waste time when I do not believe in all the tactics some people use in MK.

Believe me, I have communicated with about 30 former MK consultants, the same thing happened to them when they quit.

I have a true Christian friend who has read your email, is astounded by your response and is reading this email as I type it.  She was in Tupperware, same thing.  Once you get out, you are considered "negative" and are not associated with by former business partners.  WHAT does that tell you!

No matter what you say, I know the truth and I know there are lawsuits against MK, even a former NSD.  I saw even with Cindy Williams that when Alice & I missed our flight to the seminar, missed our dinner, that Cindy, with all the money she is making, could not offer to pay our dinner fees after the hotel restaurant declined.

Now I have a lot more to share with my former MK people and I will tell the truth when people ask me what my Director's response was!!

Wake up and smell the coffee -- you are totally missing the point.  Hurt feelings because I didn't attend meetings, whoa, that's a biggie.  Someday you may be in a situation similar and maybe you will understand!

And I did not say about salvation, I said Live by your actions, not words.

WOW!  I AM FREE!!!

DANG! You rock Gail!!!!!! Wow, I am so amazed at how you could put all of your feelings in writing. I wish I had done that!!!!! WooHoo!!!!!

Directors are all for themselves, she proved that when she said "It is simply not reasonable to have removed yourself, almost entirely, from our Mary Kay unit and then expect to be top-of-mind when something tragic happens."  Tragic you frigging moron, tragic, what does she not get?!!!!!!!!

OMG, what a joke! Where is the compassion for a friend or fellow human?  AND SHE KNOWS YOU!!!!!! OMG! Aren't you glad that you are out?!!!!!!!! Send your stuff back MKC aught this lack of compassion!!!!!

WWIT,

I really enjoyed your comments!  It wasn't hard to share my feelings because of all that I read on TPL.  I kept seeing it was a "pink machine" that runs people down and doesn't help them to get up.  In fact, "they" (only those who are thoughtless towards others) want you to be flattened out so to speak, so they can fill you up with their "hot" air!

Then you start talking like them, acting like them, and what happens to being a genuine person?  Gone, greed is the name of the game!

Glad to see there are some active consultants who do MK their way, but I believe the whole system stinks.  Proof is on this website with 1,000 members!

YES I AM SO OVERJOYED TO BE OUT OF THE PINK FOG!

When I woke up in the middle of the night back in December, I said to myself "get out of MK" then a big weight came off of me!

WOW Gail! You kicked some butt and got a lot out of your system.

Love how she pretty much put the blame on you for everything. They simply AREN'T your friends. No one that you meet in Mary Kay is your friend. That becomes really clear when you don't perform (i.e. order inventory, come to all the events, etc).
