I called MK Inc. today to receive my pink letter and was told I am only eligible for $835.  I did not add up my last year's purchases, was hoping it was a lot more!

I received no comment about my husband being laid off.  There seems to be a different tone in the operator's voice when you're saying you want out (even for financial reasons).

I got the standard reply "you know we will be calling your director and you can never be a MK consultant again."  I told her yes, I read all the information already.

I am really angry because of my eye opening experience that you all have already posted about.  They don't care when you're leaving, in fact, treat you like something is wrong with you.

All that hard work for almost 3 years.  No good luck to you or hope you husband finds work.   I bet if I said "I change my mind, I'm staying in" I would of gotten all kinds of comments!  Such hype and lies.

Did you all answer those 5 questions like "will you still use MK?" or "did anyone influence your decision (if I heard the question right)?"

Does MK know about this and other similiar websites where we go to help each other out of the pink fog?

I AM SO GLAD I'M GETTING OUT!  I won't answer any calls from my Director or recruiter, I'll only email them UNLESS they volunteer to buy lots of my older inventory!!!

You are too cute! I can guarantee that they won't buy from you....because it won't count towards their star!

So the good news is you won't have to talk to them!

I'm happy that you are glad to be getting out....welcome to pink fog free air...feels good eh?

I'm sorry your were treated so badly but i'm not suprised at all.  Yes they do know about these sites.  I have a feeling they lurk around.  We may all be a dollar sign to them but here we are all a big family.  I wish you and your husband nothing but the best of luck!  yourock

Hi Gail52, I called MKC and asked how much I would be eligible to send back.  I didn't ask for my pink sheet from them I just used the spread sheet from this site and sent back my inventory.  I called my director after and told her what my decision was.  I sent it back and my samples were donated to a womens shelter.  Be firm in your decision because it is best for you.  Good luck Soapbox

MK Corp doesn't care ONE BIT if you are getting out. Now you have come out of the fog, you realize that this company is no different than most others. It's about PROFIT -- NOT the freakin' Golden Rule and all things warm and fuzzy as those directors want to con you into believing.

:hugme:  I'm sorry you got a nasty person at MKC.  I really have a hard time with people who are unsympathetic.  We'll be praying for your hubby to find work soon.  I was out of work for 6 months a few years ago, so I know how stressful that can be.

((((hugs))))) So sorry about the job situation.  My dad was laid off 13 months before retirement at a co. he's been w/ since the 70's, and my brother gets out of the military in 3 months and hasn't had any luck finding anything good for long-term.  Best of wishes to you, we'll "tag you on" to our prayers (if that's OK).

I had a similar experience on the phone with Mary Kay repurchasing dept.  When I called back after recieving my 1st check to tell them that all the calculations on the sheet I sent them were right and that their amount was wrong, the lady argued and argued.  She said they have people who are specially trained in totalling up the returns.  According to their inventory sheet of my return, they said I returned partial numbers of things, like 25.58887 Day Solutions, etc.  How do you return half an eyeliner pencil?  I was right, proved it to them, then I got my 2nd check a few weeks later.  So hah, Scary Kay.  *moon*

Wow, thank you for all the wonderful emails and prayers!  We will make it, my husband had an interview that went great.  They will be calling him for a 2nd interview in 2 weeks.

I guess it is who you get on the phone when you call MK.  I especially enjoyed the email from *moon*.  Glad to hear you got your well deserved 2nd check!

I have had a few inquiries from TPL about products on hand, so I may be selling some items before I return my inventory (I'll make sure to meet the deadline).

All of you ladies are so wonderful and yes, I believe this is a real "family", not the MK one!

No calls yet from Director or recruiter.  Maybe they expected me to get out.  Yeah for me!
