I Everyone!
Why do I feel so bad about sending everything back to MK. My SD likes to "play"favorites with everyone and when someone who is new comes in she jumps all for them. I work me tush off and sell enough inventory to at least deserve a phone call now and then. She is a HIGH "I" and I am a "C" for those of you who remember the D.I.S.C game. She really has me so snowed, that I really feel bad sending it back. Why?? I have no clue. She wants to be a good friend and of course says all the right things to keep you. I took on a new job and now am getting paid an AWESOME salary. Real Money! I even work from my home and have hours I want. Gotta love it. Also, if you miss a meeting and call her for details her famous line is those who show up, go up!" My son was in the hospital for a week when I had called her. Not to mention not one call then either and she knew about it. What is the rule from MK "God First, Family Second & Career Third" If they only practiced what that really meant.
I am calling the company tomorrow to get the "numbers" to do my inventory. And of course wait for the awful phone call from her begging me to stay. I feel so relieved that it is now is boxes and out of my sight. I'll fell better when this is over! I can't wait.
What should I say when she calls? I do not want an enemy.
Thanks for any help. ~EmmaGrace

I sent my director an e-mail saying that I was at the end of my "Mary Kay career".

my advice is not to pick up the phone until the return is done. THEN see if she ever calls you again. That will tell you if she was even your friend to begin with -- don't worry about making an enemy. She won't have time for that, since she'll have to get out there are recruit a whole bunch of new best friends if she wants to keep up her business. welcome to the forum.

Welcome "not for me"!!!!! Glad to have you here! What I found with my director, is that I didn't cost her much when I sent my stuff back, so she didn't call to beg me to stay!!!! I have never heard from her again, oh except to hear about her "NEW" career! (It was a form email). nfm, don't feel guilty, remember "This is your business" you run it the way YOU want, and you've chosen to close your doors! Your director or NSD doesn't have a right to tell you what to do!!!!!! Remember that you are doing right by your family!!!!! Hope to see you around lots!!!!! Welcome again!

not for me, Welcome to the board! I hope you'll stick around, we have a LOT of fun here! Don't feel bad for sending product back - remember they all know that is possible and "sell" that option to get you to join & order. There is no reason for you to feel guilty - it is a (very big) part of this business! Also, if you are not able to be at the meetings yet put forth the effort to contact your , you shouldn't be brushed off. Remember this is not a club, it is a business. Not many of my friends make money off of me! Just tell her that it's not for you, "no" is the only answer for which there is no come-back. Good luck!

Hi there Not For Me! I just went through this with my director and recruiter. I too had guilty feelings when I first thought about returning my inventory... I had made a "great friend" in my new director... she was always inviting me to things (even outside of MK) and was so cool to be around... I really didn't want to let her down. My recruiter was a friend first so I also didn't want to "let her down" either. In the end, when I ran the numbers and really thought about the time and effort I was putting into the business in comparison to what I was making, I realized it was hurting me financially to stay in... I told my director when she called (immediately after I called MK to get "my number") that this was a business decision for me, it wasn't working for me financially and I needed to put my family before my business because my business was negatively impacting my family... she really didn't have much to say in response to that. I only got some push back when I wasn't strong in my position and waffled in my feelings about it. My advice - be strong, be confident in your decision and why you have made it. Before you pick up the phone, know that you made the right decision for you and stick by it. If she is truly your friend, she will remain your friend after you send in your product. In my case, I learned a lesson... it's hard to mix friends and business... Good luck and keep us posted on how things are going!

Hi Everyone! Thanks for all the GREAT advice/support. I am calling the company on Monday to get my numbers! Believe it or not, when I called her to tell her I had some "goodies" for her I think she knew right then I was leaving MK. I had brought over a bunch of section 2 stuff and she bought 7 boxes of travel satin hands sets from me. Since then, I had dropped of her radar. Until tonight, she called me to "check in with me" And to tell me she was off to the BIG GIRLS DINNER! What next? It really didn't bother me since I had just had a GREAT dinner with my family! How long does it take for the BLUE HAPPY CHECK to arrive?

I got the Big BLUE check today!!! It only took a full week, if that, from start to finish once I finally had the courage to send the stuff back! My director still hasn't called me. That kinda stunk. I had a speech all planned for her. Actually, two others in our unit called me and asked how I sent it back. Too funny! to everyone who gave me the information and courage to do it. ~EmmaGrace

Be sure to give the other women who want to send their stuff back the link to our website here. They will appreciate the information on how to do it, and get over MK!
Congrats on taking the big step out of the pink bubble and back into the real world with the rest of humanity.
