I posted in this forum that I am a personal life coach specializing in stepfamilies.  Well, it is time to take my exam for certification, and I am looking for a few people to work with for my exam purposes.  I'm not looking to my main niche for this undertaking, as I'd like some variety for my exam submissions.

Here's what I'm looking for:

Someone who has half an hour free for one evening twice a month for the next 2 months (4 x total)

Someone who wants FREE help in achieving a goal or change

Someone willing to be recorded

Possible situations perfect for being coached:

Career Change
Starting a business
Relocation
Starting a new relationship
Trying to decide if a career change is right
Trying to decide to go back to school
Simplifying your life
Planning a big event (wedding/party/etc)
Achieving balance between work and family
Starting a new hobby or routine
Adjusting to your child entering puberty or teenagerhood

I can help with lots of things outside of this list as well!

Basically, coaching is a type of consulting where the coach focuses on the positive and what is working, and uses those things to help the client achieve desired changes and goals.  The coach does not instruct or counsel, but simply holds a vision for the client, and helps her to break her goals down into achievable steps so that the ultimate goal is met quickly and with ease.  It's like having your own personal cheerleader, and who couldn't use one of those! (yikes, I know that sounds bubbly, but I swear it's not in a mary kay way)  And the bottom line is, it's all about what YOU want for yourself.  Other people's opinions don't count.

These are all perfect.  Coaching is great for helping you to get inside your own head to figure out what it really is that you want, because you have the benefit of someone looking in from the outside (me) who is paying attention only to you and your wants.

What I would ask each of you ladies to do is email me at leah@freetobefamily.com so that we can get the ball rolling on our first phone call.  I am available evenings and weekends (I have a full time job), and I am quite available late evenings (like 9 or 10) for those of you who find your first chance at peace and quiet that late in the day.  Just let me know what works best for you in this time frame: Sunday through Wednesday after 6PM Eastern.  I can do a Saturday night if absolutely necessary, but I would rather not.

Don't worry right now about how coaching works.  You have to experience it to really grasp the value.  Our first session will cover what I call a "conditional consult," which is the initial session where a client determines if coaching is right for him or her.  We will record for about 30 minutes 4 times, you will achieve some clarity in your decisions, and I'll become a certified coach!  Yay for everyone. smiley

Just curious how this worked out for those of you who were in on it?

I'm currently working with two incredible women who I connected with on this board, so that's a huge win for me.  If they choose to come forward, they can tell you all about it.

I am still looking for one more person to record, so if you're asking because you're interested in seeing what coaching is all about, I'd be happy to work with you for a few sessions.  The same offer from my first post on this thread still applies (free help 4 times for 20 minute sessions).

Just email me at leah@freetobefamily.com to coordinate schedules with me.
