I am having fun with a new hobby, that I guess is a side business for me. I create one of a kind handbags, among otherthings!
I'd love to be able to continue and support my hobby, so I decided to get a website and just see what happens. I'm having fun with it! My line is MillieFern  Original Handbags and Accessories  my motto is: From My Hands to Yours!

my website if anyone is interested is www.milliefern.etsy.com

I love those! I sew bags, but don't have time to concentrate on it.

That is so sweet- I appreciate it:)

YOu know, I have recently neglected my hobby--and I think that's why i've been slowly heading towards being more grouchy lately- you know, when I crochet, it is therapy- so you can look at sewing like that too I bet- that when you take a little time to concentrate on it, everything else just halts for a little while, and it gives your brain time to rest and not think about all of the things going on in your world---
of course, you have to get back to reality eventually, but it does help!! smiley

anyway- thanks for looking. fyi: having an etsy site is sooo easy, and everything on there is handmade-whether it's jewelry, sewn items, crochet, knit, art, etc etc...there are all sorts of things on there (there is some great jewelry, and fun, natural bath/spa items as well)--- it is not at all expensive- you pay a tiny listing fee, and then a very small % of a sale, and that's it. simple. that's why I did it, I figured, why not? at least I can feel official and have a website, but it won't cost me but pennies to have!! ;0)

lovely chatting- talk later.

WOW those are so cute! And very professional looking, too! Sometimes when you see people selling their "hobby crafts", you're not quite sure what to expect - but those look like something you could buy at the mall! Cheesy

Now there's a REAL business, yo. Just promise you won't start your own MLM to sell bags, 'kay?

I am in the start-up phase of opening a Personal Concierge Service.  I am targeting (primarily) realtors (to purchase gift certificates of 2 hour or more worth of errand service) to give to their clients when they close on a house, and the senior industry.  So far, the response has been really good!

that's a cool idea Judi! I know when you're in the middle of trying to move out of state, running errands is really hard!
Let us know how you do with that.

In addition to my bag addiction, I've started making some sweaters- I just posted one on my site- let me know what you think. smiley www.milliefern.etsy.com

by the way- if you make anything you can have an etsy site, it's easy and not expensive to list items- and there's no monthly fee. You only pay when you list an item, and then a nominal fee when you sell one through etsy- it's fun.

There is also great jewelry and bath products-if you want some of my recommendations, let me know---:)

JPE, that's so cute! It looks really comfy and cozy too. . . ahh, it's getting to my favorite time of year!

I would love some of your etsy recommendations for jewelry especially - I looked around on there and there is so much. Even though I make my own I love to buy other handmade stuff, or handmade beads for my creations. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

I adore the golden age bubble bag!  You are sooo creative hon!  Love  I too neglected my hobby (gardening) to my family's dismay and now have to throw out a bunch of my gorgeous but now dead flowers.

Thanks for sharing this etsy site--I'm going to be selling crocheted items at a flee market (an upscale one), and it will be great to have a site to put my things on?  I make baby blankets, hats, headbands, bags, purses, ponchos, etc.  I am going to set up my site tonight.  I am currently "sold out" and have three or four commissioned projects to work on for now--After I set up my site, I will be motivated to get my hook out!  I do facepainting (called "Happy Faces") and my crochet business I jokingly call "Playing Hooky" because the flee market I am going to be selling at has a lot of customers who are supposed to be at work or school.

Yeah, more etsy shops! smiley You'll love it, it's just fun to look and to be able to have a website to direct people to. Plus, it's inexpensive and easy to list items. One thing I do is save my digital pics at 75% of their normal size b/c it only accepts up to 2kb of size per picture- anyway, that always takes care of it.

Thank you to those who look at my site! I have a new bag on there, it's a bubble-bag style but in my felted wool- it's one of my new favorites. smiley

have fun with etsy, littlegirl. smiley You know, I list items sometimes even if they are custom for someone else, and in my description I say that it was a custom item but that they can request one similar to it. It allows me to at least have a variety on my site and give people ideas and options. But yes, you'll def. want to get your hooks out!!
