Just wonderin' if there are other SAHMs out there? I have 3 kiddos, fortunately 1 of them started kindergarten this year. Instead I stay with our middle child who is now fully into the terrible 2's with a vengeance, and our 6 month old. Mommy is losing her mind!!

I'm not a stay at home mom, but I'm a part-time shift worker and I have my children way more than the babysitter. I also have three kiddo's....sounds like mine are a bit old than yours....but age differences are close. So I've been where you are! It gets better! My middle one (4) just started JK this year...every other day, my oldest (7) is in grade two and the youngest is (2). When the youngest was born....I felt like like I was loosing my mind! My oldest was still 4 1/2 and the middle one was 21 months old....and I wasn't getting any sleep.... Good news is I think God made it that way so that we wouldn't remember much....I really don't remember much of that first year after my youngest was born! I know that there are quite a few SAHM's out around here....I know that they can relate for sure! If I could I would stay at home....but we need my income to live.

Here here! I stay at home w/ my youngest who's 4 - we do homeschool pre-K and don't really "stay home" as much as the title "SAHM" infers. We're part of a homeschool co-op and he also comes w/ me when I work (volunteer really) at my other kids' school. My 6 yo and my 11 yo go to school during the daytime and I am itching to homeschool my 6 yo again (did for K) because I miss him so much, and b/c he literally has only learned one thing new to him all year (how to look at "i" and not say the "e" sound - he always said the same sound for both before no matter how I tried to spin it). OK sorry for venting there, wrong thread. Just wonderin' if there are other SAHMs out there? I have 3 kiddos, fortunately 1 of them started kindergarten this year. Instead I stay with our middle child who is now fully into the terrible 2's with a vengeance, and our 6 month old. Mommy is losing her mind!! It does get better, and before you know it you'll be glad they have eachother as playmates to keep them occupied. My sons are best friends and I don't think they can imagine life w/o eachother. In fact my 6 yo told me the other day that he's decided what their (shared) bedroom will be decorated like when he and brother are grown-ups. "We're going to have our room orange for Tony Stewart" he said. Hey Nascar was good for when they were learning their numbers way back when!

Hi there! I'm a SAHM with a 17 month old daughter. It's pretty easy with just one, but I'm sure that when and if #2 gets here, I'll be a sleep-deprived mess! I have a group of SAHMs from my church, and we get together once a week so the kids can play and we can have some adult conversation. There's only so much poo-poo and WonderPets talk a gal can take!

my oldest is going to start Kindergarten this year, and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant stand all the fighting. Literally, non-stop ALL DAY, the 5 yo and the 3 yo fight. Over everything. I want to bash their heads together. My 1 yo is a sweetheart though, so he's my favorite right now. sigh.

ROFLMAO!!!!! Thank You, pinkcaddy, I wish all of society realized it doesn't make a person a bad mom to have these feelings! I have a book called "Siblings Without Rivalry" you can use to whack them over the heads w/ if you like *teehee*

The darn teasing and fighting only seems to worsen in middle school! My son and daughter (ages 12, 9) taunt, harrass, and pick on each other all the time. It drives me batty. We've tried all sorts of creative punishments. Ha ha - nothing works. I am so ready for school to start on Monday. We've had too much togetherness.
I am not a stay at home mom, per se, but I waited until they were in school to go back to work. I am a professor, and my schedule pretty much mirrors theirs. I do have some night classes, but then they are home with dad!

Eh, don't let our complaints fool you...it's pretty great to have kids. Trust me, the hilarity outweighs the frustration.

yesterday they were fighting over a toy trumpet - so I jerked it out of their hands and threw it across the room so it hit the wall and broke. It felt soooo good.

Hey my kids are all grown, my baby is 24 and still living at home, cause his "toys" cost too much to have an apt and them! But I am also a school bus driver, so I can relate to your comments about arguing. Multiply that x 51 for my elementary school route and 35 for my Jr & Sr High School. Most of the time the kids are pretty good...Elementary School can get pretty loud and sometimes the older Jr & Sr High kids can get smart mouths, but overall I like my job and my kids. I'm protective like their second Mother (ha-ha) This looks a little like kids fighting right?

LOL, I'm a TGIDHK (Thank God I Don't Have Kids) Somehow reading all that, stopped my clock (biological that is)! Who are you kidding? Just cause you don't have human critters doesn't mean your not a momma......they just don't talk back in words! How many animals do you have? Eight cats....three dogs?...fish?, birds? (Peeps for sure) yesterday they were fighting over a toy trumpet - so I jerked it out of their hands and threw it across the room so it hit the wall and broke. It felt soooo good. PC....I feel your pain....some days are like that at our house...especially if I have all three at home, if I just have one or two...life's good! No fighting! Happy Days kindergarten will be!

LOL, your so funny Sassy! We have 8 cats, 1 dog and 1 Sparrow (Spike aka Peeps).
Only 2 of our cats are domestic, 6 are Feral.
ALL are fixed (yes against their will! LOL, if they chose to stop by our house to eat, they went to the vet usually $200 ea. later and all were healed and fixed, Feral cats are usual sick or injured) BUT it is true that if you get Ferals fixed and leave them in the neighborhood where you found them, then you will keep others at bay. We haven't had a Feral cat for about 2 years now, and we had a ton!
We have also found that most of the Ferals are very grateful and infact 1 is a house cat now and 4 come and go inside as they please, but are very good house guests! Our 2 domestics have won outside only privileges! Bad kitty!
