I haven't been to one in years myself but I did a google search on "baby shower games" and a ton of sites came up.  It would be worth a try to check some out.

That's nice of you to have a shower for your friend.  Ask your friend if she wants to play games.  I personally wouldn't want to.  smiley *baby

The last showers that I have been to they didn't really play games.

One that is fun and doesn't embarrass anyone is to get diaper pins hand them out to everyone and anyone that says "baby" has to give theirs to the person that calls them out.  At the end of the shower the one with the most gets the gift. (usually if there are any kids there they get all of the pins)

Hope it turns out great!

OH! What about the one where everyone takes toilet tissue to guess the size of the mom-to-be's belly!  (can sometimes be insulting to the emotional pregnant girl!)

If your friend is ok with games, one that I have seen done is 'measuring' mommy's tummy.  You bring a roll of yarn or ribbon or whatever and have everyone cut off a piece that they think is the size of mommy's tummy.  The one who cuts the closest size wins!  (This is WAY better than the baby food tasting contest  Sick)

They did this one at my Baby Shower at church.  They also took the little baby(the ones that are in pink or blue diapers) decoration in the cake decorating aisle at the Walmart froze the babys in ice and we had to "deliver the baby" by melting the ice but we couldn't use our mouth.  Whoever delivered theirs the fastest won.  We also did "Baby Pictionary"  where we had to draw baby sayings and have the team guess.

the clothes pin game that was mentioned earlier is easy and it gets everyone involved.

I recently went to a shower where we played a game called "Guess what baby ate"--there were six diapers on a table and each one had a melted candy bar or some type of baby food in the diaper (sounds really gross, but it was cute).  We were all handed a sheet of paper for our answers and then the first one to give the correct answer received that particular candy bar.  I had never seen it before but it was fun for everyone--yound and old!

For one of my showers, my aunt made up a questionnaire about me and my pregnancy... is she having a boy or girl?,  baby's name?, how much weight did she gain?, what did she crave the most?, favorite color?, favorite food?.... stuff like that!!  And, whoever got the most right, won the prize!!  It was a great way to share my pregnancy with everyone!!

Another game my SIL did at my shower was guess what the presents are.   You had 2 minutes to write down what you thought was in the packages whoever had the most right when the presents were opened got the prize.

I just thought about something else that was done at one of my showers, she passed around index cards to all the guest and had them right "good" advice about raising the baby or just being a parent.  It was really funny to read some of them later.  What I did for my sister was bought a nice journal and passed it around and had everyone do it, that way she could keep righting in the journal later when the baby was born.  Just an idea, not really a game.

The last baby shower I went to we played a game where you had to write a name down for each letter of the alphabet.  There was a time limit and whoever had the most names won a prize.  It was pretty fun, I WON!!

Another game is where you take a piece of paper and a pen, and put the paper on your head and draw a baby. Who ever's drawing looks most like a baby wins. I won, but then I had just had a baby a week prior to the shower!

Also, you could have a diaper challenge. See who can change a diaper on a baby doll the quickest and/or with their eyes blindfolded. That should give you an idea as to who has had to change a diaper in the middle of the night with all the lights out!

Have Fun! and let us know how things went!

I went to a shower this summer where you took the mom and dad's names and came up with as many names for baby as possible by combining the two. Fun and funny!

DIQ - I also did the candy bar game.  It was really a blast!!  I think we had six tables or so, and we worked together as a team.  It really helped us to get to know each other.  It really makes you put down your barriers as you are looking at these diapers, smelling them, looking to see if there are peanuts (Snickers bar), coconut (Mars Bar), etc.  It really is a lot of fun.  At first everyone is disgusted, then it seems like everyone really gets into it!
