I came across this article about parents teaching their children to provide signs they have to use the restroom so they can go diaper-free. Some parents apparently get their child to go diaper-free from birth! I'm sure some of you have heard about this but if not here is a link to an article about it: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20464264/wid/11915773?GT1=10252. Now I don't have children, but I've watched my goddaughter enough to realize this would be a constant job. So have any of you tried this?  Would you consider trying it or does it seem like a headache to you too?

whoa - the only way I could see that as feasible is if you're a stay at home mom with ONE kid. Right now I could never imagine being able to watch the baby every second for potty training, with 2 other kids needing attention.

My 2 year old is still training, and that takes enough of my attention as it is. You know, if moms followed EVERY parenting trend out there, not only would we be making all of our own baby food from scratch (organic - grown in our own backyards!), we'd be sleeping with the kids til they were three, potty training them every second of the day from birth, and teaching them baby einstein from birth with flashcards. It's just too much!!!

My MIL says that she had all five of her children potty trained at 6 months old.  I'm not lying - but I think she is!

Yeah, I saw that on MSN!  DS is 10 and DD is 15, so I am a long way from that but, um, NO!!!!!  DD was 2 yrs. and 3/4 and DS was almost 3 1/2.  I waithed until they were ready and they were both potty trained in about 3-5 days.  Seriously.  And they didn't wet their beds, either.  I could have just gotten lucky, though.   :lobster:  (Don't know what this guy is for, but I just like him)

BUT.....if it works for them, great!  All kids are different.

Why did that mom take the kid to squat down at  a tree rather than going inside to the bathroom?  rofl

I've heard of this but have never known anyone who personally tried this.  It's interesting none the less.

I've not tried it mainly because I'm not interested in cleaning poo off the floor...it's bad enough in a diaper! I do like the idea of reducing diapers for the environment though!
