I was reminded of a conversation with a friend/fellow MKer about this subject when we were in MK. Neither one of us even liked going to these home parties, yet here we were trying to get people to hold them for us.

What about you?

A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition.

NO, NO, NO!!!  I hated having one and I hated going to one!  It always seemed like you HAD to buy something and it was never cheap and it was never anything you needed or wanted.

After I became an IBC I used MK as an excuse not to go to or have parties, because I said, "Hey I am supposed to be holding classes/parties myself, and if I have one for you, that means I am not making any money!"   :doh

Of course, I never made any money anyway!  Sick

NO! I hate these stupid things.  :fit: I always felt guilted into buying something and I would always want NOTHING and settle for the cheapest thing in the catalog. Then I would go home feeling like a sucker.  :gah: I think most of my purchases from home parties have ended up at Goodwill anyway.  :doh

Oh and what really cheesed me off was when people whose stupid parties I had gone to did not want to come to a party or even look at the catalog when I was doing MK. One of them had the gall six months after refusing to consider buying MK to invite me to a pampered chef party.  :wtf:  :nuke:

I didn't much care for them, but it seemed to be the only way I ever got together with my girlfriends.

Almost like married women think they need some sort of event or excuse for getting together!  Geez!  Just pick up the phone and invite people in or out for no reason other than getting together!  Whatever happenned to that?

Julie...I hear ya sista...I always felt obligated to come and buy something and would get talked into having a party for the hostess and somehow she didn't feel obligated to me in any way.  :wtf:

pinkmigraine....I am all in favor of that, let's just have a girls nite out with some snacks, gossip and a few drinks (I don't even need the alcohol to relax and have a good time)....Let's all stick together and "Just say NO"
to parties and "pampering sessions"

If I wasn't going to buy something, (like Julie said) I just didn't go.

I watched a season of that. I didn't realize it still played. I loved that show. I LOVE laughing.

One kinda weird thing about me though, is that I don't watch tv. Our tvs NEVER come on in my house. I can't stand it. It's so sexist and racist and full of sex and it's such a cliche. It's fake. I hate fake stuff.

Every now and then, I watch American Justice. But that's fake too. But I can tolerate it somehow, lol.
