Not quite sure how to word this but was thinking about it the other day.

I think a lot of women find that their skin looks and feels better when they start using MK because the start using a system on a regular basis. They don't jump around from product to product either.

I'm wondering how many of you actually followed a disciplined system of skin care before MK and if you do so now.

Never did before, excited to get a great deal on Clinique or another "prestige brand" so that I can try a new line!  SO excited!

Before I started using MK, I used soap every morning in the shower. At night, it varied what product I would use if I bothered to wash my face at all. LOL I know, I know heheheh but my skin was very oily and I never wore foundation :teehee: was younger then, so it seemed OK. Now I use Paula's Choice. I like the way my skin looks. I attribute it to the glycolic acid. For me, my skin looking better is what makes me do the regimen. I am lazy and if I could get away with just washing with soap in the shower I would. Alas, those days are gone. *sigh*

Yes, I used Clinique for almost 10 years before MK. I couldn't afford Clinique any more so I thought getting MK at 50% off was great! LOL UGH!

I won't be going back to Clinique though, I didn't really like the yellow moisturizer, it was a bit greasy!!!!!!

I've always been a "sometimes you feel like an exfoliant... sometimes you don't" kinda gal. I'm super sporadice with skincare, but I tried Proactiv in my late teens/"pre MK".

Before scary kay I was just like Julie -- I hardly ever washed my face at night, rarely wore makeup, I had never exfoliated (yeah, I know, I was 38 years old!!), used any kind of moisturizer around...

I started using the whole shebang when I started scary kay -- timewise, micro, all the eye and lip stuff, color 101 all the way, etc.  Of course my skin looked better -- I was actually taking care of it!  smiley

Now I have cut out all those stupid steps and have gone to Paula's Choice and drugstore for skincare and Beauty Bliss for makeup.  And it is easy...

My routine:

Morning -- clean in shower with Oil of Olay fash wash, use Paula's choice AHA gel and moisturizer afterwards.  Then Lynn's wonderful makeup!

Night -- Oil of Olay fash cloths to clean, maybe moisturizer and AHA, maybe not...

I am like you, TUP. It is actually doable with just a few steps. MK had too many steps and I always thought any more than 4 was excessive. Not to mention who can keep the order of application straight with all that stuff? I just don't have the attention span for that!  :teehee:
3 products and out, that's me.

Again, I'm guilty. I know the order by heart and I did not use skin care before Mary Kay. But I'm getting a little older and I think it's time to start using.
