The hair cut poll brought this to mind.
Did you switch to using only Mary Kay products, as consultants are encouraged to do, once you signed up with the company?

Nope, and although I'm an active consultant, I still don't.
I'm going to give this new body-care line a try once I order some, but since I despised the Embrace line, I've been sticking with my tried & true Bath & Body Works. If anyone who knows I'm an MK consultant asks me what I'm wearing, I'll tell them it's the last of an old bottle of discontinued shower gel no one can get anymore. LOL!!!
And I was using Avon's felt-black-tip eye-liner before MK brought theirs back (I hated the liner that had a brush-tip,it went on wayyyyy too thick, I prefer the pointed tip for a thinner line).
I use the skincare. I think it's kind of hard to sell it credibly if you don't use it. People will look at your skin to assess if it works for you (at a minimum). And I use the color, although not everyday. And I don't wear foundation everyday, especially in the summer. At most, I will put on a sheer layer of loose powder.
When we had a nail line, I was still addicted to OPI. I tried to use the MK colors, I really did, but it just wasn't feeding my nail-vanity. LOL!!!

Yes, I used only MK products. Threw out everything else (Clinique)! UGH, WTH was I thinking? I ran out of much of my MK and ordered more from my old recruit and realized IT MAKES ME BREAK OUT!!!!!! BIG icky pimples!!!!!!! I thought MK was noncomedogenic! (SP, no word in here like that)! I will NOT order MK again! When I ran out of my 3-in1 cleansing bar I was using my soup from www.soap-please.com on my face and LOVED it!!!!!!! Back to that!!!!!!

I hated their mascara so I stuck with Great Lash. They didn't make waterproof eyeliner so I didn't use their eyeliner. I rarely use eyeshadow or blush and I tried to use the foundation but I hated it. More of it ended up my phone than on my face ugh. LOL So I ended up only using the skincare and satin hands.

When I first became a consultant, I still used my Olay skincare products. Though I had lots of Timewise in inventory, I used my Olay products until they were all gone. Then and only then did I switch back to MK/Timewise (I say back to Timewise because I first started using MK skincare in college). It was funny to hear my director talk about how great my skin looked (she said this before I became a consultant too She was not happy to hear that I wasn't even using the MK Anti-aging stuff. Guess my genes were the result and not MK huh? So she'd start the brainwashing techniques and say how I should use MK so that I could tell my customers and future how great the products were.

I bought some Laura Mercier Lipgloss (Citrine) this weekend! That stuff is hot! Makes my MK lipstick look even better!
My friend asked me what would I say if a customer asked me what MK color that was. I told her I would simply say it was an old old color that is no longer available. LOL!!!
I'm attaching a pic of it. It's the 3 gloss on the right hand side.

Nope; I was never competely brand loyal before, during or after MK. I was the one who brought B&BW to Seminar and was given the "evil eye" by my roommates. They insisted I hide it in my suitcase in case our director came to our room to chat. I looked at them like they'd grown an extra head! I'm gonna get in trouble for using body wash and lotion I bought?? faint WTH?! That was strange to me, especially when they were like, "never bad mouth a brand a customer's using; instead tell them the positive qualities of ours." RIIIGHT! That's really going to make them do a 180 and use the MK line exclusively!! Anyhoo, I used the cleanser and moisturizer (back when it was all skin types), liquid and CTP foundation (diff. shades depending on the time of year), a couple of glosses, the peach Satin Hands and I liked Journey, but only used the sample vials (I didn't wear it often enough to use a full sized one).

I too was totally brainwashed into thinking the MK line worked only w/ other MK products, lest it cause "chemical warfare" to break out on my face. Before they divided the TW into dry and oily, the only thing breaking out was my face! It's been really hard to find a good replacement for it that works as well, doesn't break me out or dry me out and still has the anti-aging stuff. I never threw out my old stuff, just couldn't bring myself to. I veered away from the makeup counters and cosmetics section at stores, longing to take a peek, but how would I justify that color/scent to my customers w/o lying?? Selling MK can make one compromise their morals, even on seemling small little things - but a lie is a lie. I even took that stupid Caribean Blue MK nail polish w/ me when my step-MIL treated me to a full-on spa day at a high-end salon in LA when we were visiting. UUUGGGH! I wouldn't even allow myself to look at the other colors. Sick I've since grown quite fond of MAC, Chantecaille, Chanel, Estee L., Clinique, Burt's Bee's, Bath & Body Works, and lots lots more! Take the blinders off and run free my pretties! You'll feel like a kid in a candy store!

I still sell MK. But am far from using just MK products. I tried. I honestly did. The TimeWise cleanser just didn't cut it for me though. I ended up switching back to Proactiv. I do use the TimeWise Moisturizer. I hear ya on the whole Seminar thing. I got some dirty looks when my roomies seen my Proactiv cleanser, Almay eyeshadow, wet n' wild pencil eye liner and mascara, and my Bath & Body works lotions and sprays. OHHHH!!!! AND!!!!!! My Avon cosmetic cases! I thought I was going to be burned at the stake! How dare I not have a travel roll up bag.

LOL! Burned at the stake... Been there, done that! In fact, on more than one occasion my adoptee director said, "This would be a great product for you, *****! Have Brian take before and after pictures." Like I was ugly, and MK was going to make it all disappear! OH MY GOSH! It was so funny! I used everything MK, but I hadn't used any make-up or skincare prior to MK. I walked into Walmart last week to buy a Mascara (never been in the cosmetic aisle before), and ran into my adoptee director! LOL! I didn't say a THING about my impending purchase. BTW, Max Factor defining mascara in black is pretty awesome!
HAHA!
I have a few more MK things to use, then I get to MOVE ON!

OMG FLASHBACKS ~ Was she there "Warm Chattering" looking for new recruits (Victims)? My Director and Sr. Director used to say the cosmetic aisles were the BEST Place to recruit and find new customers. I NEVER could bring myself to do it, but I know some of them did regularly......
