For 17 1/2 years I HAD to speak Spanish.  Now I just butcher it cuz I don't have to speak it anymore.  And don't get me started on biligual teachers, church, documents, etc.   Soapbox

We have to take French in public school, but after that it's not mandatory. Perhaps it should be since French is recognized as one of Canada's official languages? Very few people are bilingual.

I lived in Puerto Rico until 7 years ago, I moved to the states when I was 20 , so I went to kindergarten all the way through highschool back home Spanish... Then, I moved here and HAD to learn the language, but also had the desire to learned it! :autmn: :autmn: :autmn:
